Throughout the offseason, SB Nation will host surveys for NFL fans, sponsored by the folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook. For Pride of Detroit, we are tasked with fielding questions from Detroit Lions fans, and this week’s question centers around an important player returning from injury: Sam LaPorta.
LaPorta burst onto the scene as a rookie, setting multiple records for tight ends in franchise history, including registering 889 receiving yards for the season. In year two, LaPorta’s production was scaled back (726 receiving yards) as he focused on rounding out his overall game, which included stark improvements as a blocker. Last...

With the potential the Bengals have on offense with Joe Burrow, it’s no surprise that the state of their defense is under the microscope. In fact, according to ESPN’s Ben Solak, at least, it’s one of the NFL’s biggest questions entering training camp. And if we’re being honest, he’s probably right, given the past five […]

Will Rico Dowdle continue his 1,000-yard season streak with the Steelers? The degree to which it matters is debatable, but it’s nevertheless true that Rico Dowdle has a chance to make NFL history. A sixth-year back, he recorded a 1,000-yard season for the Cowboys in 2024. Doing the same for the Panthers in 2025, he […]

The New England Patriots are set to take another look at a former member of their practice squad.
Thomas Odukoya, whose contract with the team expired in February, will be in town for a free agency workout this week. Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston was first to report the team’s interest in the 29-year-old.
A 6-foot-6, 253-pound tight end, Odukoya originally joined New England’s practice squad last October. He spent the remainder of the season with the team, but was moved to the practice squad injured reserve in December after suffering a broken leg in practice.
Now fully healthy...

Football is back for the Miami Dolphins as their 13 drafted rookies and undrafted rookies reported for training camp yesterday. The Dolphins drafted two players in the first round in OL Kadyn Proctor and CB Chris Johnson. Both of them should be starters on day one with Proctor penciled in at left guard while Johnson should be starting at one of the cornerback spots.
There will be new starters at cornerback with the departures of Jack Jones and Rasul Douglas. As stated above, Johnson should lock down one of those spots as the front office and coaching staff have a...

There’s nothing like a training camp jump scare in which a star player is placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. Such was the case for Seattle Seahawks defensive back Nick Emmanwori, who was one of three players put on PUP on Monday. Emmanwori participated throughout minicamp and OTAs, so this undisclosed injury has seemingly come out of nowhere.
NFL Network reporter Steve Wyche was on Seattle Sports 710 radio with Michael Bumpus and Stacy Jo Rost on Tuesday, and for any Seahawks fans freaking out over a possible prolonged absence for the second-year player, perhaps this will...

Last month, Hogs Haven listed Odafeh Oweh at #4 in our list of the top-ten Commanders for 2026. Here’s what Scott Bair said about Oweh in that article:
He’s an intriguing talent with the size you want at 6-foot-5 and 251 pounds, with the speed and power you need to excel off the edge in new coordinator Daronte Jones’ system....

Under Mike McCarthy, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense aims to climb the charts. In yards, in scoring, in overall production. But there’s one list the team hopes to stop ascending. Pittsburgh has one of the NFL’s longest-ever streaks scoring seven or fewer first-quarter points. If that trend doesn’t stop sometime during the 2026 season, the Steelers […]

Aaron Donald’s return to the Los Angeles Rams seems imminent if the star feels he is capable of performing at a high level in 2026. Donald is ramping up his training camp regimen in hopes of joining Myles Garrett and company on the defensive line.
But there are major financial implications for the Rams if Donald’s unretirement becomes official.
Because Donald retired in 2023 prior to the end of his contract, LA would owe the future hall of famer $30M that was dead money against the salary cap. This was made clear by a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter and...

Last week, it was announced that the New Orleans Saints and running back Alvin Kamara came to an agreement on a restructured contract which ensures that the 30-year-old will indeed play this season and likely finish his NFL career in the black and gold.
However, the Saints also signed former running back Travis Etienne during free agency in the offseason. Etienne is expected to do the heavy lifting and take over the starting role but it’s one that Kamara will not walk away from easily.
Kamara’s former teammate Terron Armstead revealed on his podcast, “The Set”, that the star running...

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, on Monday, the Indianapolis Colts worked out former Super Bowl Champion veteran safety Jordan Whitehead, who missed all of last season recovering from a neck surgery following a January of 2024 car accident when he was headed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice facility:
Originally a 2018 4th round pick of Tampa Bay, the 29-year-old safety has also spent time with the New York Jets organization (2022-23). During his 7-year NFL career, he has appeared in 105 games, making 101 career starts.
He won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers back in 2020, when...
