Andrew Van Ginkel impressed upon reuniting with Brian Flores, enjoying a productive season as a pass rusher to help the Vikings finish the season as a top-five defense. The team will reward the former Dolphins defender for his work.
The Vikings are giving Van Ginkel a one-year, $23MM extension, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The deal comes nearly fully guaranteed, with $22.4MM being locked in. Minnesota now has Van Ginkel signed through 2026.
Coming up earlier this offseason as an extension candidate, Van Ginkel has shown himself to be a viable starter on the edge — after previously working as...
Mike Reiss of ESPN reports that the Patriots have informed veteran long snapper Joe Cardona that they are releasing him.
This comes after the Patriots used a seventh-round pick on Vanderbilt LS Julian Ashby last week.
Cardona, 33, is a former fifth-round pick of the Patriots back in 2015. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.48 million contract and set to make a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season when the Patriots re-signed him to a four-year extension.
From there, Cardona agreed to a four-year $6.3 million contract with the Patriots in 2023.
In 2024,...
The Niners signed Kittle to a massive contract extension on Tuesday.
The San Francisco 49ers signed tight end George Kittle to a record-breaking four-year, $76.1 million extension on Tuesday that includes $40 million guaranteed.
Kittle, heading into his age-32 season, is arguably the league’s best tight end and seemingly wanted to be compensated as such. His four-year, $76.1 million deal narrowly eclipses the four-year, $76 million deal that Arizona Cardinals star tight end Trey McBride signed earlier this offseason.
There was initially worry that a contract dispute between Kittle and the 49ers would come about this offseason, as The Athletic’s...
The Arizona Cardinals announced they have cut TE Bernhard Seikovits and OL Matthew Jones.
Seikovits had been part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway program.
Jones, 25, signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State following the 2024 draft. Unfortunately, he was let go when rosters were trimmed at the end of training camp.
He later caught on with the Cardinals practice squad.
Jones has yet to appear in an NFL game.

The Detroit Lions announced they have waived WR Antoine Green.
Green, 25, was a seventh-round pick to the Lions in 2023 out of North Carolina. He signed a four-year, $4 million rookie deal through 2026 but was let go in August with an injury designation.
In 2023, Green appeared in nine games for the Lions and recorded one catch for two yards.

The Atlanta Falcons have made some aggressive moves over the past two offseasons. In 2024 they made a bold move by signing Kirk Cousins to a huge contract in free agency, then adding Michael Penix Jr. in the first round. This year the Falcons traded up to draft James Pearce Jr. in the first round. It seems they will take a more measured approach with figuring out what to do next with Cousins.
Falcons GM Terry Fontenot explained that he is taking a patient approach to dealing with Kirk Cousins.
“We have to be patient there and we always we’re...
The Tennessee Titans announced they have waived OT Isaiah Prince and OL Arlington Hambright.
The team has been trimming the roster to make room for undrafted free agents and other signings.
Prince, 28, is a former sixth-round pick by the Dolphins in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Ohio State. He was waived as a rookie and claimed by the Bengals in December 2019.
Prince opted out of the 2020 season due to the pandemic. He was on the roster until late in the 2022 season when he was waived and re-signed to the practice squad. He bounced back and...
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced they have waived four players following the NFL Draft.
The following are the four players waived by Tampa Bay:
Callaway, 27, was a four-year starter at Tennessee and was a second-team All-SEC selection. He wound up going undrafted in 2020 and signed on with the Saints.
Callaway made the team coming out of the preseason before the Saints declined to tender him a qualifying offer after the 2022 season. The Broncos signed Callaway back in 2023 but released him...
Despite endless media speculation and even plugged-in insiders like Adam Schefter confident the Pittsburgh Steelers would not only draft Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders but do so in the first round, the Steelers passed on him not once but three times in the 2025 NFL Draft. Instead, the team took DL Derrick Harmon, RB Kaleb Johnson, […]
Here is what the Cowboys 53-man roster could look like following the draft.
The 2025 NFL Draft is over, and while the Cowboys still have a few roster spots to fill before they get to 90, they likely have most of their eventual 53-man roster in the building at this point. Which means it’s the perfect time to take a guess at who makes the final roster, with several intriguing positional battles already shaping up.
Dak Prescott
Will Grier
Joe Milton
This position group can likely be locked in right now. Dak Prescott is obviously the starter,...
After emerging from the 2025 NFL Draft with a potential superstar in Ashton Jeanty, it’s hard not to love what the Las Vegas Raiders did. While Jeanty is fully expected to begin his career as the Raiders’ starting running back, he may not be the Raiders’ only incoming rookie who emerges as a starter.
According to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review Journal, wide receiver Jack Bech could be another incoming rookie who emerges as the team’s new starter.

While the Jets carried the curse of John Abraham at edge rusher for over a decade, the Falcons also struggled mightily to replace the since-retired pass rusher. Despite first-round picks, notable free agency additions and a 2024 trade, Atlanta has come up empty in its search for consistent EDGE presences.
Abraham, whom Atlanta acquired in a three-team trade in 2006, signed with the Cardinals in 2013. The Falcons have sputtered in their attempts to locate edges since. Free agency additions (Osi Umenyiora, Dwight Freeney, Bruce Irvin, Dante Fowler, Bud Dupree) and a Matt Judon trade either provided stopgaps or ended...
