I was all set to write an article last week about how good the Pittsburgh Steelers’ red-zone offense is with Russell Wilson. After all, it’s an area that has been a strength for him, even during his Denver nadir. But then they went out and posted their worst red-zone performance in a while. The Steelers […]
The Steelers are brining back Rowe
The Pittsburgh Steelers recently released their former first round pick, Terrell Edmunds, and are now bringing in another former Steelers safety to get back into the fold.
The Steelers are signing Eric Rowe to their practice squad, the team announced. Rowe appeared in the team’s final three regular season games in 2023 and their Wildcard game against the Buffalo Bills and he played fantastic. He had 37 tackles in those four games, as well as an interception in his first game as a Steeler in Week 16 vs. the Cincinnati Bengals. He also forced...
The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed veteran S Eric Rowe, adding him to their practice squad. Rowe returns to the team after being signed nearly a year ago and playing a key role down the stretch as Pittsburgh made a playoff push. The Pittsburgh Steelers have two very capable quarterbacks on their roster right now, but the future of the position remains unclear with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields both set to become free agents after the season. If one or both end up signing elsewhere, could the Steelers roll the dice on yet another reclamation project? […]
I decided midweek to attend the Ravens game. When I mentioned to my wife Sue that I planned to skip it, she exclaimed, “How can you miss that game? It’s very important. You have to go.” That was the encouragement I needed. Steelers Game Eve I pulled my ticket off Ticketmaster and then fit all […]
Following each game in the 2024 Pittsburgh Steelers season, I will highlight the event, or string of events, in the game that was the turning point. Not all turning points will be earth-shattering but are meant to give a unique look at how we arrived at the outcome of the game, one that may be […]
Would the Pittsburgh Steelers be 8-2 right now if not for Mike Tomlin and his coaching staff? While Steelers fans love to criticize their coaches, those barbs have lessened this season. In fact, many are promoting Tomlin as a lead Coach of the Year candidate. Mark Kaboly, in fact, finds it hard to even see […]
Skowroneck doesn’t find himself in the box score often, but he’s made a career doing the dirty work on Sundays.
Whenever the Steelers are widely televised or in primetime, I tend to get more friends messaging me about the game. That was especially true this week. This particular Steelers-Ravens game had a little more juice than some of their more recent matchups. The Steelers haven’t been true contenders the past few years, but despite that, the wins in this rivalry have been lopsided in their favor. A large part of that, we were told, was because the Steelers have seen...
The post Why Aren’t Steelers Using Mike Williams More? | Steelers Morning Rush appeared first on Steelers Now.
Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it’s the contributions of new Steelers receiver Mike Williams.
Since coming over from the New York Jets, Williams has played in two games for his new team, and has been targeted just once. That target was a 32-yard, game-winning touchdown against the Washington Commanders. So why did he not get...
Sunday’s game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens felt like a game from a decade ago. The height of the rivalry. That roughly 2008-2013 window when both teams were competitive, hungry, and respected but hated the other side. Every game was a fight, literally and figuratively. The NFL’s changing rules and key faces of […]
The Pittsburgh Steelers debuted their Justin Fields package, helping author their biggest win of the season. By defeating the Baltimore Ravens, they put themselves in the driver’s seat for the AFC North. In fact, they have it within their control to claim the AFC’s top playoff seed. While that isn’t all thanks to Justin Fields, […]
A weekly series I’ll do that captures the forgotten and hidden plays that helped the Pittsburgh Steelers win—or lose. Not the touchdowns, turnovers, or plays that will make the Monday morning highlights—the little ones that, looking back, played a key role in the outcome. Today, two hidden moments that helped Pittsburgh beat the Baltimore Ravens […]
