As we’ve done in previous years, we’re taking a look at Pittsburgh Steelers who are on Reserve/Future contracts for the 2026 offseason, as well as what we can expect from them during training camp and (hopefully) into the regular season. Today, an outlook on DL Jahvaree Ritzie. Jahvaree Ritzie/DL North Carolina – 6042, 292 If […]

The writing is on the wall for Mason Rudolph. As the Pittsburgh Steelers began OTAs this past week, it was Will Howard taking QB2 reps while Rudolph was QB3. With the Steelers also adding Drew Allar in the third round of the draft, it certainly looks like Mason Rudolph will be the odd man out in the Steelers’ quarterback room.
While Pittsburgh could let everything play out in training camp and preseason, it would make more sense to ship Rudolph elsewhere and make it known that Howard is the backup to Aaron Rodgers heading into the 2026 season.
Rudolph is...

Omar Khan is no longer on scholarship. Hired as Pittsburgh Steelers general manager in May 2022, this team is his. Especially after Mike Tomlin’s exit, a coach who had considerable influence over the direction of the team. As Khan enters his fourth full season in the GM role, one analyst is comparing his job performance […]

The Pittsburgh Steelers quietly have a very good running back room. While they won’t get the mass attention of Saquon Barkley or Bijan Robinson, Jaylen Warren and Rico Dowdle are the only duo in the NFL t0 have both rushed for 1,000 yards in 2025.
Because of the one-two punch Pittsburgh has in its backfield, you’d be forgiven to forget about 2025 third-round pick Kaleb Johnson. The Iowa product was seldom used as a rookie, with the lowlight of his first NFL campaign being a fumble on a kick return that was recovered in the end zone for a touchdown...

One final time, we’re conducting our annual review of former general manager Kevin Colbert and his draft history. Years ago, we began ranking all 183 of his career draft picks from worst to best. Each offseason, we updated the list based on the changes to players’ careers, even after he stepped down in May of […]

Today, I’ll continue studying the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2026 NFL Draft class. Next is Indiana FB Riley Nowakowski. Considering that fullback position, which Pittsburgh announced him as when making the selection, I wanted to take a look at how he blocked last season. First, here’s Nowakowski’s snap counts by alignment in 2025 for context: Inline TE: […]

On the surface, losing offensive coordinator Arthur Smith might appear negative for players like Pat Freiermuth. After all, Smith was the most tight end-centric offensive coordinator in the league, using 12 and 13 personnel more than any other coach. Even as the offense opens up under Mike McCarthy, Freiermuth’s role could as well. “This is […]

Aditi Kinkhabwala is just as confused about the Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback situation as much of its fan base. She sees the franchise, even with all its offseason changes, running in place for another year. Appearing on Jason La Canfora’s podcast for the BigPlay network, Kinkhabwala has trouble sussing out Pittsburgh’s plan. “So Mike McCarthy’s opening […]

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2025 defense didn’t live up to its self-billed high expectations. Now, a new coaching staff will look to repair and improve the unit. There’s a long list of areas where the defense can improve, but there are four stats in particular that are worth cleaning up. If corrected, the defense has a […]

Among coaches and staff, there are only a few familiar faces on the Pittsburgh Steelers from a year ago. Many of Mike McCarthy’s new hires, and McCarthy himself, are Green Bay transplants who someone like Aaron Rodgers knows well. But there’s one returning coach who Rodgers is happy the team hung onto. Speaking to reporters […]

For all of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ secondary changes, a returning player could find his groove in 2026. Asante Samuel Jr. went from steady and solid in Los Angeles to suffering a neck injury that left him without a team to begin last season. Cleared midway through the year, the Steelers took the chance on him. […]

Amid a season of great change, the Steelers are still trying to win now. What will be the determining factors of success or failure? With a new head coach and coaching staff, they did bring back a lot of the same personnel. But they made some key additions, and the schemes will change, too. For […]
