Pittsburgh Steelers inside linebacker Patrick Queen has had an interesting offseason. Teams reportedly called the Steelers about possibly trading for Queen. The team hosted a handful of high-end linebackers in the 2026 NFL Draft class potentially looking at upgrades, and now Queen is in the final year of his contract and under a new coaching […]

Jaylen Warren is in the best shape of his life. A phrase common to hear from any football player in the spring, but Warren has the scale to prove it. Speaking to reporters after Thursday’s practice, Warren said he’s dropped weight ahead of the regular season. Warren is down to 205 pounds, per The Trib’s […]

PITTSBURGH — With Kenneth Gainwell having left in free agency, Mike McCarthy and the Pittsburgh Steelers picked up former Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers tailback Rico Dowdle.
Dowdle is in his first week of practice with the new team, and can be seen here during Thursday’s session at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.
“I definitely envision them being two valuable, very accessible players for us — interchangeable — a thunder and lightning type of atmosphere with those two guys,” Steelers running backs coach Ramon Chinyoung said Wednesday of Dowdle and incumbent Jaylen Warren. “Both of them have the ability to...
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback situation has been one of the top stories in the NFL for a third consecutive offseason. There was more than enough attention on Aaron Rodgers returning for his second season with the team, but the Steelers added even more discussion around the position when they drafted Drew Allar out of Penn State in April.
While Allar has tremendous arm talent, Mike McCarthy and his offensive staff have made it clear that they are stripping his footwork down to the studs and rebuilding that aspect of his game – something that worries Ben Roethlisberger.
Speaking on the...
Behind the Steel Curtain
The Pittsburgh Steelers had a chance to rebuild this season after Mike Tomlin stepped down. Instead, they doubled down on competing for a Super Bowl. They hired Mike McCarthy to replace Tomlin, re-signed 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers, and also added several other veterans to their roster. The Steelers believe they have a shot at a championship, […]

The Pittsburgh Steelers have made several promotions and moves within their front office, per the team’s website. Although it does not appear the team has made any new hires, several already in the building are carrying new titles. Tim Gribble, hired in January, officially has the title of senior director of college personnel. A Pittsburgh […]

PITTSBURGH — New Pittsburgh Steelers defensive line coach Domata Peko played for the Cincinnati Bengals for 11 seasons, so he knows all about the Steelers-Bengals rivalry. He played for the Bengals when the rivalry was at its height in the mid-2010s.
At the time, there wasn’t a more hate-filled rivalry in the NFL. Players on the Steelers simply couldn’t stand Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict, who was notorious for dirty antics.
The Steelers-Bengals 2016 Wild Card game was an instant classic.
Burfict delivered a late shot to Antonio Brown in the 2015 Wild-Card game, resulting in a concussion for Brown. The...
PITTSBURGH — Now coaching alongside Mike McCarthy with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Tom Arth loosely remembers what it was like to learn from his quarterback school as a player, even though two decades have passed since.
Arth spent an offseason with McCarthy and the Green Bay Packers in 2006. He was teammates with current Steelers signal-caller Aaron Rodgers, who’s now 42, before stints in the Canadian Football League and Arena Football League to cap his playing career.
However, he’s applied the lessons he learned from his brief time with McCarthy ever since.
“When I went through it, I feel like we...
There have been plenty of storylines since the Pittsburgh Steelers took 10 players in the 2026 NFL Draft. From their first-round Makai Lemon-Max Iheanachor situation, to Germie Bernard, Drew Allar, Kaden Wetjen and Eli Heidenreich, there’s been no shortage of topics to discuss. But one draft pick who’s flying under the radar is Daylen Everette. […]

PITTSBURGH — When Jalen Ramsey learned Joe Whitt Jr. was joining the Pittsburgh Steelers coaching staff, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ veteran defensive back reached out to Charles Woodson, who played under the coach from 2009-12.
Coincidentally, Whitt, the Steelers’ associate head coach and secondary coach, compared Ramsey — who he describes as a “multi-positional player” — to the Green Bay Packers and Oakland Raiders’ great on Wednesday morning.
“His skillset lends himself to doing that,” Whitt said at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex. “I’m not gonna really compare him to a guy that I coached, but the way we used Charles...
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been quite busy the last few weeks. Not only has the team re-signed QB Aaron Rodgers to a one-year contract, it also signed K Chris Boswell to a four-year extension in addition to restructuring TE Pat Freiermuth’s contract. On the heels of those transactions, which also include the signings of nine […]

PITTSBURGH — Kaleb Johnson‘s rookie season was rather forgettable. After being selected in the third round (No. 83 overall) of the 2025 NFL Draft, the tailback was tasked with adjusting to the ins and outs of the professional game, including pass protection and catching balls out of the backfield.
Early on, Johnson drew attention for all the wrong reasons because of a kick returning gaffe that helped do the Steelers in during a Week 2 loss to the eventual Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.
Steelers running backs coach Ramon Chinyoung is impressed with what he’s seen out of Johnson’s approach...
