He hasn’t worked with him just yet, but Pittsburgh Steelers veteran tight end Pat Freiermuth can’t wait to get to work with new quarterback Aaron Rodgers and get down the nuances of the game between quarterback and tight end. Appearing on Cameron Heyward’s Not Just Football with Cam Heyward podcast, Freiermuth stated that being on […]
Cincinnati Bengals All-Pro edge rusher Trey Hendrickson, who has not received the new contract he has been looking for, is not attending the Bengals’ mandatory minicamp, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Hendrickson (35.0 sacks) and Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt (30.5) are 1-2 in the NFL in sacks the past two seasons. Neither one is attending mandatory minicamp. The two elite pass rushers are trying to gain leverage and put pressure on their respective teams.
Hendrickson and Watt will be subject to fines of $104,768 for missing minicamp this week. The fines go up with each day missed....
It’s hard to know what to expect from a player after they miss their entire rookie season with an injury. Calvin Austin III didn’t quite break out in his first healthy season and Cory Trice Jr. showed flashes but dealt with more injuries. It sounds like Roman Wilson is on a slightly different trajectory for […]
As one storyline ends in minicamp, another begins. Aaron Rodgers will attend his first Pittsburgh Steelers practice today, ending months of speculation of when he’d join the team. Instead, it’s outside linebacker T.J. Watt who won’t attend. Presumably frustrated by the lack of movement in contract talks as he seeks a long-term deal, Watt will […]
Aaron Rodgers hasn’t even donned a Pittsburgh Steelers’ helmet yet after signing late last week, and already a member of the Cleveland Browns is talking smack. That would be veteran cornerback Greg Newsome II, who has had plenty of run-ins with the Steelers over the years, most notably last season’s dust-up with former receiver George […]
Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro outside linebacker T.J. Watt will not attend the team’s three-day mandatory minicamp, which starts Tuesday at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex, according to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Watt, the Steelers’ star edge rusher and best player, has not been around the team since cryptically throwing up the deuces on Instagram a few months ago. He did not attend the two-week voluntary OTAs at all. Watt will be subject to $104,768 in fines if he skips all three days of the mandatory minicamp.
Watt is looking for a new contract, as his is set to expire...
As the Pittsburgh Steelers exit the voluntary portion of their offseason program and move into mandatory minicamp, all eyes will be on some of the players who were not at OTAs. Among those is T.J. Watt, who is entering the final year of his deal and due another big payday by the team. According to […]
The Pittsburgh Steelers are putting in their final week of offseason work during the team’s three-day mandatory minicamp. After this, the roster won’t come together again until the Steelers report to training camp in late July. From there, it’s full speed ahead to the regular season. Like it or not, quarterback Aaron Rodgers will dominate […]
It took longer than many anticipated, but Aaron Rodgers is finally the Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback, and that’s quite exciting for a number of players on the roster ahead of the 2025 NFL season. That includes defensive captain Cameron Heyward and veteran tight end Pat Freiermuth. Heyward, on the latest episode of his Not Just Football […]
When QB Aaron Rodgers visited the Steelers in March, he and OC Arthur Smith met extensively—to put it mildly. According to Albert Breer, Smith and the Steelers were so sure of landing Rodgers that they built the offense under that assumption. After reports of his signing, we continue to learn more and more how much […]
Predicting the Steelers’ first-round pick’s upcoming season.
With so much attention dedicated to Aaron Rodgers (and understandably so) over the last week, it feels right to shift some focus to another big offseason Steelers addition: rookie defensive tackle Derrick Harmon.
I’ve been a big fan of the Oregon defensive lineman since the pre-draft process, but I’d caution against raising expectations too high. Harmon was a disruptor first and a productive player second at Oregon — the biggest knock on his scouting report was his repeated struggles to finish plays....
Player: TE JJ Galbreath Stock Value: Up Reasoning: Recently mentioned by QB Will Howard, rookie TE JJ Galbreath is drawing some attention in his bid for a spot on the 53-man roster. Signed as a college free agent, he has an uphill battle, but his work ethic is his ally. He is putting in extra […]
