Steelers Schedule Could Spark WPIAL Football Championship Questions

Since the Pittsburgh Steelers’ home, Acrisure Stadium, opened in 2001, the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) has held its football championship games there each year, save for 2020 because of pandemic-related restrictions.

With the way that the Steelers’ schedule fell together for this upcoming season, it could make it hard for high schoolers to be able to take the field this time around.

The Steelers play the Denver Broncos at home on Black Friday (Nov. 27) and turn around to play the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football nine days later.

With Pitt’s regular-season finale against Cal being on...
