Steelers rookie changes jersey number ahead of OTAs

Steelers rookie changes jersey number ahead of OTAs

When the Pittsburgh Steelers released jersey numbers for their rookie class, fans immediately looked at kick returner/wide receiver Kaden Wetjen in No. 42 and had some questions.

The Iowa product let it be known he would have a new number before the season started, and he has now made the change official, switching to No. 10. The number became available after Roman Wilson switched to No. 14, which was the number he wore at Michigan.

The Steelers begin their first round of OTAs on Monday.

Steelers Officially Bring Back Aaron Rodgers for 2026 Season

The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially announced that Aaron Rodgers will return for the 2026 season, finally putting an end to months of speculation surrounding the future of the future Hall of Fame quarterback.

Unlike last offseason, when Rodgers’ decision dragged deep into June and left the organization waiting throughout OTAs, this agreement comes much earlier and gives Pittsburgh far more clarity heading into the summer. For a team entering a new era under Mike McCarthy, having its starting quarterback in place before camp is a major step toward building continuity offensively.

Rodgers, now 42 years old, will receive a significant...

Beat Writer Outlines ‘Worst-Case Scenario’ With Aaron Rodgers Reunion

The Pittsburgh Steelers are running it back with Aaron Rodgers in 2026. Considering their hopes to compete at the highest level this year, that makes sense. However, it’s not a sign that the Steelers have things figured out at the quarterback position for the long haul. Last year, Rodgers played well enough to get the […]

‘Take The Under’: Damien Woody Sees McCarthy-Rodgers Pairing Struggling To Compete

Now that Aaron Rodgers is in the fold for the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of the 2026 season, the general belief is the Black and Gold will once again be in playoff contention, this time under first-year head coach Mike McCarthy. The addition of Rodgers to a veteran roster won’t push the Steelers into true Super […]

Drew Allar Already Embracing Aaron Rodgers Mentorship in Pittsburgh

New Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback and third-round pick Drew Allar already seems to be embracing the potential mentorship of Aaron Rodgers, as the former Penn State signal caller reposted the news of Rodgers’ return shortly after it became official.

Steelers fans remain a mixed bag when it comes to Allar. The former five-star recruit is one of the more fascinating quarterback prospects Pittsburgh has taken in years. At 6-foot-5 with rare arm talent, Allar possesses the prototype size and velocity to make virtually every throw on the field. However, questions surrounding his mechanics, processing speed, consistency and overall polish caused him...

Aaron Rodgers Already Setting the Standard at Steelers OTAs

If there’s any indication of Aaron Rodgers’ approach to this season, it’s that the four-time MVP and future Hall of Famer is all in. Rodgers was reportedly one of the first players inside the facility Tuesday morning, arriving around 7:45 a.m. ahead of Pittsburgh’s first OTA practice.

That comes just days after Rodgers finally put pen to paper, ending the lengthy offseason waiting game surrounding his decision. Last season, Rodgers didn’t arrive until mid-June, meaning this year he’ll be present for significantly more of the offseason program and installation process as Pittsburgh looks to build continuity early.

Rodgers’ second season...

What to Watch for at OTAs | Steelers Morning Rush

Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League.

Today, it’s the start of the team’s Organized Team Activities, better known as OTAs, with the first of 10 optional full-squad practices taking place at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Monday, May 18. The practices are non-contact, and optional, but with Aaron Rodgers in town and recently signed, the Steelers could see most of their veterans on the field together for the first time in the 2026 season on...

Saunders: Good, Bad, Ugly of Steelers 2026 Schedule

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be making their third overseas trip for a regular season game as a franchise in 2026, with a trip to Paris, France to face the New Orleans Saints. But even when factoring in that schedule oddity, the Steelers have one of the lightest travel schedules in the NFL this coming season.

At least, in terms of miles. That doesn’t mean it will be easy.

The Steelers will be flying 3,910 air miles from Pittsburgh to Paris for their Oct. 25 game against the Saints — the longest single regular-season trip in franchise history, edging out the...
