With their two final opponents already eliminated from the playoffs, Week 16 will be the Las Vegas Raiders’ final opportunity to play spoiler this season. The Houston Texans are locked into tight battles for the AFC South title and the conference’s final wild card spot, trailing the Jacksonville Jaguars by one game and holding a one-game advantage over the Indianapolis Colts.
To preview the contest for Raider Nation, Silver and Black Pride reached out to our friends at Battle Red Blog, and Scott Barzilla was kind enough to answer a few questions about the Texans.

The Las Vegas Raiders signed defensive end Jahfari Harvey to their 53-man roster this week.
Let’s take a closer look at Harvey:
Size:
6-2, 255 pounds.
NFL experience:
None.
How acquired:
The Raiders invited Harvey to their May rookie minicamp and then alter signed him. So, he wasn’t an initial undrafted free agent signing immediately following the draft. Thus, his journey is pretty unique. He didn’t make the roster coming out of training camp, but he was singed to the practice squad. He was promoted Wednesday, a day after Las Vegas waived defensive tackle Leki Fotu.
College:
He was at...

The Las Vegas Raiders visit the Houston Texans on Sunday. Kickoff is at 1:25 p.m. PT. Here are five keys to an upset win:
Score something:
The Raiders’ offense is pathetic. They have been shutout twice including in Week 15 and are ranked dead last in the NFL, averaging 244 yards a game. This is a bad matchup. Houston’s defense is the No. 1 ranked defense in the NFL, allowing 269 yards a game. nd it can easily blank the Raiders. Las Vegas has to find a way get going on offense and making this yet another blowout loss. Frankly,...

The Las Vegas Raiders are sitting at 2-12 and staring at the number one pick in the draft. The team has 10 draft picks in total, with hopes of rebuilding the franchise.
Two of those picks came via a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars. After demanding a trade before the start of the season, the Raiders moved wide receiver Jakobi Meyers to North Florida for a fourth and sixth-round pick.
Since joining the Jaguars, Meyers has flourished with 27 catches, 355 yards, and three touchdowns. His production has lifted Treveor Lawrence to another level, and the team is 6-1 since...

Despite a down year in 2025 largely due to defensive scheming and other issues along the Clemson roster, Woods still remains a massive playmaker at defensive tackle. Woods has a lethal first step for his size quickly getting into his rep in elite fashion allowing him to be a wrecker with size, speed, and initial quickness. Woods has elite movement skills beyond his...

I’m not going to lie to y’all, we could be in for another ugly game from the Las Vegas Raiders as they take on the red-hot Houston Texans. The Raiders enter the contest with eight losses in their last eight attempts, while the Texans have won six in a row. But, we still have our Silver and Black Pride Pick’em competition to look forward to, and it’s a tight race as we enter the final three weeks of the regular season.
Odds below are provided by FanDuel Sportsbook and are subject to change.

Before we get into it, everyone take a deep breath in, and a deep breath out. Three games, that’s all we have to get through before this miserable Las Vegas Raiders season is finally over. Then, it’s the offseason where we can build up hope again (and, hopefully, not get let down, again). On that note, let’s keep it going with the 2026 NFL draft and free agency questions for this week’s mailbag.
As always, anything Raiders-related is on the table and fire away with anything that’s on your mind. Send your questions my way by either dropping a comment...

After not being able to land a top-coaching candidate, the Las Vegas Raiders settled on Pete Carroll in 2025.
Then, the plan became for the team to pair the veteran coach with a veteran quarterback and the team settled on reuniting Carroll and Geno Smith from their Seattle Seahawks days.
The plan was to have Carroll and Smith be at the coach/quarterback combination for two or three seasons.
the plan didn’t work, of course. Carroll and Smith have both been dreadful in their roles as the Raiders sit at 2-12 in yet another lost season.
It is becoming apparent the...

Pete Carroll wants a Year 2 as Las Vegas Raiders head coach.
The 74-year-old lead man remains steadfast in his belief he’s the right person to chart a better course for the Silver & Black.
“No, I don’t feel like that at all,” Carroll said during his Monday media availability when broached with does he like he’s coaching for his job. “I really don’t. I’m well beyond that. I don’t feel like that.”
“Well, it’s looking like that’s what’s necessary,” Carroll answered when asked the follow up question of he’d be willing to oversee a rebuild. “We...
