Former Patriots center David Andrews set to retire after 10 NFL seasons

The Patriots released David Andrews in March.

An NFL career that began at Gillette Stadium will officially end there.

Former New England Patriots center David Andrews is set to retire after 10 seasons, the organization announced, with a press conference scheduled for Monday, June 2 at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Andrews, 32, had remained a free agent since his release in Foxborough on March 13. A failed physical designation was part of the move after he saw his final campaign conclude on injured reserve due to shoulder surgery last fall.

Undrafted out of the University of Georgia in 2015, Andrews outlasted...

Patriots want players to ‘make great decisions,’ says Mike Vrabel after viral Stefon Diggs boat video

The high-prized free agency signing was not present at practice on Wednesday.

Stefon Diggs was not present for the New England Patriots’ second open organized team activity on Wednesday. The veteran wide receiver was still the talk of the the town one day after a video of him went viral.

In the short clip, Diggs is seen on a boat talking to three women before presenting an unidentified pink substance. Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel said on Wednesday that the team would be aware of the video and its content.

“It’s something that we’re aware of, and obviously we want...

Patriots’ Mike Vrabel Addresses Troubling Viral Stefon Diggs Video

New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs seemed to have an… eventful… Memorial Day.

Diggs, who signed with the club back on March 28, spent part of the weekend on a boat with rumored girlfriend Cardi B — where viral videos began to circulate that showed the veteran wideout surrounded by women before pulling out a transparent bag with a pink substance inside.

It’s not not a troubling video from the standpoint of the organization.

Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel was asked about the video before organized team activities on Wednesday.

“It’s something that we’re aware of,” Vrabel said, per...

Patriots player profile: Drake Maye’s development is the story of the season

Patriots player profile: Drake Maye’s development is the story of the season

Previewing the Patriots quarterback heading into his second season in the NFL.

The New England Patriots found themselves at a dead end at quarterback heading into the 2024 offseason. Neither Mac Jones nor Bailey Zappe had shown that they can carry the franchise into the future, and after a 4-13 season were both headed out the door. A restart was needed, and it came via the third overall selection in that year’s draft.

Drake Maye out of North Carolina was brought in hopes of reinvigorating an organization that had not won a postseason game in five straight seasons and had...

Len St. Jean, member of Patriots’ All-AFL Team, dead at 83

St. Jean spent his entire 10-year career as a Patriot.

Len St. Jean, a longtime starter along the Patriots’ offensive line and member of their All-AFL Team, has died. As was announced by the organization on Tuesday, he recently passed away at the age of 83.

Born on October 27, 1941 in Newberry, MI, St. Jean spent his college career at Northern Michigan. He eventually received two opportunities to turn pro in 1964: besides getting drafted 237th overall by the Green Bay Packers in the 17th round of the NFL Draft, he also was picked 68th overall in the ninth...

Patriots Fans Will Love ESPN’s Drake Maye Vs. Jayden Daniels Take

The bottom-line results for Drake Maye’s rookie season with the Patriots don’t stack up at all with what Jayden Daniels did with the Washington Commanders in 2024.

But what about the eye test?

Maye gave more than enough reason for Patriots fans to believe there are brighter days ahead. However, the Patriots went 4-13, and the North Carolina product was only really under center for the entirety of one of those victories.

Compare that with Daniels, who went 12-5 while throwing 25 touchdowns and just nine interceptions en route to Offensive Rookie of the Year honors and a top-10 finish...

Patriots player profile: Kayshon Boutte in danger of losing not just his starting spot

Previewing the Patriots wide receiver heading into his third season in the NFL.

The New England Patriots double-dipped at the wide receiver position in the 2023 NFL Draft, but the players they took found themselves on a different trajectory during their rookie seasons. While DeMario Douglas was one of the few positives on an otherwise lackluster offense, Kayshon Boutte failed to make much of an impact in Year 1.

That all changed in his second season: Boutte became a mainstay on offense, and finished as one of the most productive receivers on the team. Does any of this mean something...

Big season would bring big pay bump for Patriots’ Austin Hooper, contract incentives show

Big season would bring big pay bump for Patriots’ Austin Hooper, contract incentives show

Hooper signed a one-year contract to stay with the Patriots earlier this offseason.

The New England Patriots were more selective with re-signing their own players in this year’s free agency compared to 2024. They did, however, make sure to keep one of their most productive offensive pieces from last season in the fold.

Tight end Austin Hooper, who is coming off a 45-catch, 476-yard, 3-touchdown campaign, returned to the team via a one-year, $5 million contract. The deal is a clear increase from last year’s pact — one year, $3 million — and there is potential for an even bigger...
