After what head coach Mike Vrabel described as a positive first day of OTAs, the New England Patriots were back to work on Wednesday holding their second session of the week on the practice fields behind Gillette Stadium.
For the first time this spring, the media was present to watch from start to finish as well. And while OTAs do not include any pads or live contact, there was still plenty to take away from the event.

The New England Patriots kicked off their organized team activities this week, but with June 1 nearing might have another important item on their offseason itinerary: finalizing a trade for Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown.
The Patriots have been linked to Brown for several months, and the transaction could be completed as early as next month. For the time being, however, they are focused on working with the players at hand.
Head coach Mike Vrabel said as much during a press conference at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday, praising the team’s current wideouts for the work they already put in...

The New England Patriots welcomed players back for their 2026 organized team activities earlier this week, but one of their most valuable ones is not present for the proceedings. Pro Bowl cornerback Christian Gonzalez is a surprise no-show at OTAs.
Gonzalez was among several players who head coach Mike Vrabel announced as absentees ahead of the Patriots’ first open practice on Wednesday.
Besides the 23-year-old, Vrabel also mentioned fellow cornerback Carlton Davis, wide receivers Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins and Kyle Dixon, and edges Harold Landry and Gabe Jacas.
Given his status as one of the best defenders in the NFL...

The New England Patriots will take the next step in their offseason program on Wednesday as they transition into Phase 3. That will bring the first of nine voluntary organized team activities over the next three weeks before a three-day mandatory minicamp wraps up the spring in June.
Throughout the currently scheduled practices, the media will be on hand for six total sessions — beginning Wednesday — to get a first on-field look at this year’s team.
While the pads are off and contact is at an extreme minimum, there will still be plenty to take from the next few...

Despite plenty of speculation that they would address the position in the 2026 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots did not invest one of their picks in a wide receiver. They did, however, bring in four undrafted free agents after the event was finished.
One of them was Georgetown wideout Jimmy Kibble, who made some headlines after a brief appearance on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! last October. What can be expected of the 22-year-old as a member of the Patriots? Let’s find out.
Name: Jimmy Kibble

With the first two phases in the books, the New England Patriots are about to kick the intensity of their offseason workout program up another notch. On Wednesday, the reigning AFC champions will hold their first organized team activity of the spring.
Just like the rest of the offseason program outside of mandatory minicamp, participation at OTAs is strictly voluntary. That being said, the expectation is that a majority of the healthy players on New England’s roster will be in attendance — as has been the case since the start of the program in late April.
As was announced by...

One of the New England Patriots’ biggest shortcomings of the Bill Belichick era was an inability to draft and develop wide receivers. In that sense, Belichick’s legacy lives on under his successor as de facto GM, Eliot Wolf: in Wolf’s first draft in 2024, he selected a pair of wideouts who were both let go within 17 months of their arrival.
What does all of that have to do with Kyle Williams, though? He became the latest in that long list of receiver prospects when selected in the third round in 2025. And much like others before him, he did...

For the New England Patriots, 2025 was a year of change. From the coaching staff, to the roster, to the personnel department, almost every part of the organization was shaken up one way or another.
Among the positions to see some turnover was the role of pro scouting director. Patrick Stewart, who had succeeded Steve Cargile in 2024, left the club after only one season at the job. To replace him, the Patriots turned to a familiar name: A.J. Highsmith, the son of senior personnel executive Alonzo Highsmith.
But while it is easy to accuse the Patriots of nepotism with...

The New England Patriots overhauled their kicking game operation in the first offseason under new head coach Mike Vrabel, but they left one player standing. Bryce Baringer, the team’s punter and holder since arriving in the league in 2023, remained with the club for the 2025 season.
Baringer had some ups and downs that year, but he still is the frontrunner to punt for the Patriots again in 2026. What to expect, though, in the final year of his rookie deal? Let’s take a closer look at him.
