The Detroit Lions continue to add to their secondary in the wake of injuries and suspensions. According to Jeremy Fowler, the Lions are signing safety Jammie Robinson off of the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad to their 53-man roster.
Robinson was originally a 2023 fifth-round pick for the Carolina Panthers. He would play in 15 games (two starts) in his rookie season, but he was waived from the team last December. He didn’t make it through waivers, though. The Arizona Cardinals claimed him, and while he didn’t make the gameday roster with them the rest of that season, he stayed...

Detroit Lions safety Brian Branch will officially miss Monday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Branch appealed a one-game suspension, and the NFL has decided to uphold the punishment.
Branch’s suspension comes from a post-game fight where the Lions safety shoved Chiefs receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster after frustrations from the game boiled over. The shove knocked Smith-Schuster to the ground and started a skirmish between both teams. After throwing Smith-Schuster to the ground a second time, the teams converged to try and break up the fight.
After the game, Branch expressed remorse, but also put his actions into context, noting...

Each week, SB Nation tracks NFL fans’ confidence levels of their favorite teams with their Reacts Surveys posted on their team websites. For Pride of Detroit, we are tasked with gauging Detroit Lions fans’ confidence in the team heading into each game.
Following the Lions’ first loss of the season (in Week 1), fan confidence opened at a surprising 53%. But after four wins in a row (over the Bears, Ravens, Browns, and Bengals), confidence steadily rose into the mid-90s, landing at 94% last week:
Unfortunately, the Lions suffered their second loss of the season in Week 6, falling to...

There’s not much question about whether the Detroit Lions’ trick play against the Kansas City Chiefs was against the rules. Lions quarterback Jared Goff was called for an illegal motion on a play he motioned from quarterback to receiver and caught a touchdown pass from David Montgomery. By definition, Jared Goff had established himself as a T-formation quarterback by standing directly behind center, which meant that if he went into motion, he needed to stop for a full second before the snap. He didn’t, and it was correctly flagged.
But what remains under question is how the officials got there....

On Tuesday, Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell was still being a bit dodgy when it came to the availability of defensive tackle Alim McNeill. The Lions key defender has been practicing for the past two weeks, as he continues his recovery from a torn ACL suffered late last season, but he still currently remains on the Physically Unable to Perform list.
On Wednesday, during his weekly radio appearance on the Costa and Jansen with Heather show, Campbell dropped the facade. He confirmed that McNeill will make his first 2025 appearance this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“Barring something happening...

Back-to-back primetime games for your Detroit Lions. Did you ever think you would hear something like that being said? Yes, the Lions are now playing from “Sunday Night Football” to “Monday Night Football” as they hope to overcome their loss last week to the Kansas City Chiefs. The upcoming challenge won’t be easy, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers come into Ford Field with a 5-1 record at the top of the NFC.
The Bucs are giving me 2024 Lions vibes with how their season has gone so far. Last season, the Lions dealt with multiple injuries, and no matter what,...

NFL officiating is not good. I don’t think there are many people who would disagree. Observe the fanbase of any single NFL game, and you’ll find—at least—an underbelly of people who believe their team was cheated by the officials. But this isn’t just a bunch of fans viewing the game through a heavily-biased lens, it’s easy to point out a handful of missed calls in nearly every single game. There are at least two or three missed holding calls a game, ticky-tacky pass interference calls are made all of the time, and if you zoom in close enough, you can...
