Cowboys owner Jerry Jones fined $250,000 by NFL for ‘unfortunate’ gesture during Jets win

Dallas Cowboys owner, president, and general manager Jerry Jones has been fined for the NFL. Specifically Jones has been fined $250,000 for what he described as an “unfortunate” gesture made during the team’s win on Sunday against the New York Jets.

There was footage captured following Sunday’s win over the Jets of Jerry flashing what appeared to be an obscene gesture at fans in attendance (Jets fans to be clear). Jerry spoke of the incident during his Tuesday appearance on 105.3 The Fan and said it was “unfortunate” because he meant to display a thumbs up as the moment was...

Every week, we gather to discuss the latest news about the Dallas Cowboys and seek our writer’s perspective on each headline. Welcome back to the roundtable. This week we have David Howman, Tom Ryle, Jess Haynie, and Sean Martin.

What was more impressive about the victory against the Jets, the offensive efficiency or the defensive improvement?

Mike: On the offensive side, Dallas strung together a pair of 90-yard touchdown marches and rattled off 30 unanswered points despite missing four starting linemen and playing without CeeDee Lamb, as well as KaVontae Turpin and Miles Sanders. Dak Prescott diced the Jets...

Javonte Williams is looking like the steal of the 2025 offseason

Javonte Williams is looking like the steal of the 2025 offseason

The Dallas Cowboys signed running back Javonte Williams on a “prove it” type contract for a 1-year, $3 million dollar deal, and through five games, they look like they got the best steal of the offseason.

In a 37-22 win over the New York Jets in Week 5, Williams ran for a career-high 135 yards on just 16 carries to go with two touchdowns.

He leads the Cowboys with 447 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns and is averaging 5.0 yards per carry.

He is currently third in football in rushing only behind Jonathan Taylor and James Cook.

Cowboys at Jets historical notes: Javonte Williams’ huge day

Cowboys at Jets historical notes: Javonte Williams’ huge day

Sunday was a ton of fun for the Dallas Cowboys as they spent most of the second half relaxing with the game on ice. Hopefully your fantasy teams and what not also played to that standard to give you a full day of relaxation.

It was a highly productive and successful outing for Dallas at MetLife Stadium, hopefully the first of two this season.

There were several elements of what we saw that jumped out and do so against the test of time. We know this thanks to resources like Pro Football Reference and Stathead that allow us to literally...

Cowboys would be wise to continue with youth at linebacker

Cowboys would be wise to continue with youth at linebacker

The Dallas Cowboys have been forced to dig deep into their depth chart at linebacker, but what was once seen as a setback has turned into one of the more encouraging developments of the season.

With injuries piling up, the Cowboys have leaned on their young defenders to fill major roles, and the early returns have been promising.

Players like Marist Liufau and Shemar James have brought speed, energy, and physicality to a unit that had been looking for an identity.

If Dallas is smart, theyll continue letting the young linebackers play and grow, even if that comes with some...

BTB Tuesday Discussion: What part of the Cowboys are you most confident in?

BTB Tuesday Discussion: What part of the Cowboys are you most confident in?

The Dallas Cowboys are coming off of a win for only the second time this season and it was an emphatic one where they took care of the New York Jets with relative ease.

Obviously we all wish that the Cowboys were 5-0 as opposed to 2-2-1, but the reality is that they have played five games and we can start to draw legitimate conclusions about who they are and will be as cooler weather (hopefully) starts to arrive.

Our discussion question for today is rather simple: What part of the Cowboys are you most confident in?

3 Emerging Defenders Who Sparked A Cowboys’ Defensive Revival

3 Emerging Defenders Who Sparked A Cowboys’ Defensive Revival

The Dallas Cowboys have finally found their defensive spark. Marist Liufau, Shemar James, and James Houston took advantage of more snaps and delivered energy, pressure, and production that reignited the unit in Week 5.

A Defensive Turnaround Fueled by Opportunity

After a sluggish defensive start to the season, the Dallas Cowboys finally looked alive again in their 37-22 win over the New York Jets.

The difference wasnt a scheme change or a new signing it was opportunity.

Three defenders linebackers Marist Liufau and Shemar James, and defensive end James Houston were given expanded roles and completely shifted the...

Hot Schotts: Cowboys look ready for anything after win over Jets

“We’re looking for world class competitors. Guys that wanna compete every day to be the best version of themselves. We are looking for people with a relentless work ethic.”

Those were the words that Brian Schottenheimer said in his introductory press conference as the new head coach of the Cowboys. It wasn’t anything revolutionary – almost every new head coach talks about wanting competitors who are mentally and physically tough, etc. – but it’s something Schottenheimer has continued to preach to his team as he tries to navigate his inaugural season through some rather unusual and choppy waters.

Sunday may...

NFC East race tightens as Eagles’ luck runs out

NFC East race tightens as Eagles’ luck runs out

The Philadelphia Eagles had gone 20-1, including their playoff run last year, since losing at Tampa Bay in the fourth week of the 2024 season.

They hadnt lost at home since a 22-21 loss to Atlanta on Sept. 16, 2024.

An impressive run to be sure. But one that had been filled with more than any teams fair share of luck.

On Sunday, the Eagles luck finally ran out.

The Denver Broncos rolled in and left Philadelphia with a 22-21 victory, fueled by a daring gamble by head coach Sean Payton.

Down 17-3 to start the fourth quarter, the Broncos...

Cowboys news: Schottenheimer offense can give Dallas a chance against anybody

Here’s who, what Dak Prescott credited for Cowboys’ offensive explosive vs Jets – Jazz Monet, The Cowboys Wire

Prescott received MVP chants in a visitors stadium after playing a clean game and throwing four touchdowns in a win.

Prescott credited both Williams and the offensive line for the success. “He’s a hell of a player…” he said of Williams, “always is going to get positive yards. There’s been numbers of plays now where it should have been a negative play… He’s so strong, shakes a defender off of him, still gets a first down.”
