Ah, the anticipation of a new year. Following the draft, Cowboys Nation should be as excited as ever for a new season. The defense has been overhauled, and the offense looks to have all of its elite weapons in the fold for at least another year.
We’ll now get a clearer picture of when this new-look team will play their games as the schedule will be released today. So far, we know the Cowboys will face the Ravens in Brazil in Week 3, play the Eagles on Thanksgiving, and they will also open the season on Sunday Night Football against...

Immediately after the conclusion of the 2025 NFL season the Dallas Cowboys main objective for the offseason was to focus their attention on upgrading the defensive side of the ball. Dallas’ defensive production a season ago was completely embarrassing and directly correlated with and another losing season in back-to-back years. The question is, how much, if any, better will they be in 2026?
There’s no way of sugarcoating how bad Dallas’ defense was last year. They finished last in both passing yards per game (251.5) and points per game (30.1), 30th in yards per game (377.0), and 23rd in rushing...

The NFL has one last event to do this offseason before training camps come around. That is to release the 2026 NFL schedule. They will do that on Thursday, May 14th.
We already know who are opponents will be based on the regular rotation formula the NFL has employed for a while. This year the Cowboys will play their NFC East opponents twice, the AFC South once, the NFC West once, and have single games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Baltimore Ravens and the Green Bay Packers. You can see the home and away split below.
Having to play...

Hopefully you have a travel system that is linked to points. This definitely needs to be the case if you plan on following the Dallas Cowboys around in 2026. While the schedule will be fully and formally released on Thursday, we have known for some time who and where each team will be playing their games this coming season.
The “where” is what is being discussed and assessed right now. This is the case because the Cowboys are going to be traveling the fourth-most miles of all teams across the NFL. Only the 49ers, Rams, and Texans will travel further....

As I was looking at all the rookies, I thought to myself, who holds the rookie sack record? I knew it was either Micah Parsons or probably DeMarcus Ware. Both are first and second on the list.
Without a true pass rusher on the roster, Malachi Lawrence should be set free from day one. Until Micah Parsons was drafted in 2021, Ware held the rookie sack record since 2005!
Ware is second on the list with 8 sacks, while Parsons tops the rookie sack list with 13. As noted, he did that in his rookie season in 2021.
Jimmie Jones...
All of the fun and games involved with predicting the Dallas Cowboys 2026 schedule are nearly over, as the full schedule will be revealed today. When it is, there will be at least a few dates that come as no surprise, as they’ve already been confirmed through leaks. Two of these games are matchups against their division rivals, including their annual Thanksgiving Day home game.
We know the Cowboys will begin the 2026 season in the same place the 2025 season came to an anticlimactic end, at the New York Giants for Sunday Night Football. This will also (bare with...

With it being the heat of the offseason and very slow on the updates with the Dallas Cowboys, it makes it nice to be able to put out these types of posts.
These are the types of posts I enjoy writing and then looking back on them when we get to November or December and see how they fair.
The Dallas Cowboys improved this offseason, but still have a few players that many folks outside close fans are forgetting about that could help them have a good year in 2026.
Again, these are my thoughts, and it is okay if...
Did the Cowboys do enough on defense during the offseason to help their offense?
Pro Football Hall of Famer and ESPN Monday Night football commentator Troy Aikman made a guest spot on ESPN’s “Get Up” this week to talk about all things NFL ….. and, of course, the Dallas Cowboys. Here are some highlights from his Tuesday appearance:
**With the acquisitions Dallas has made this offseason, will the defense improve to a level where the...

Many would not have expected Sam Williams to get a fifth season in Dallas after his first four years. But he’s back in 2026 with a chance at career redemption and to finally reward the Cowboys for their original investment. How does this prototypical “prove it” season look for Williams, and what could it mean for Dallas’ overhauled defense?
Years in NFL: 4
Acquired by: 2022 2nd-round pick
When the Cowboys took Williams with the 56th-overall pick in 2022, it was with the hope that he’d develop into Micah Parsons’ eventual wingman. It didn’t have to be right...

Just three weeks stand between the Dallas Cowboys and the start of 2026 OTAs. The offseason rolls on, but Dallas and the other 31 NFL franchises have made almost all of the significant moves they will make before the start of training camp.
Dallas’ roster looks significantly different than it did at this time last year, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. With that thought in mind, today we kick off a series ranking the top 10 players on the Cowboys roster for the 2026 season.
Age: 21
Years Pro: Rookie
NFL Awards: None...

While fans of the Dallas Cowboys have spent the last few months buzzing about the hiring of defensive coordinator Christian Parker, there is another secondary savant in the building who no one is really talking about. Everyone loves the bright young coordinator hire, but you cannot overlook the arrival of Derrick Ansley, who joined the staff in January as the team’s new defensive pass-game coordinator and defensive backs coach.
This is not some wide-eyed newcomer looking for his big break. He comes to Frisco with two decades of coaching experience, having refined his craft under the legendary Nick Saban at...

A few days ago, ESPN published an article in which Aaron Schatz looked at the biggest remaining roster holes for all 32 NFL teams following the draft. When reading through those various needs, thoughts arose about whether the Cowboys could be potential trade partners to fill those holes, and whether the best value of some players on the Cowboys 90-man roster is in the draft capital they might be worth in a potential trade.
But before we look at other teams’ needs, we first have to figure out whether the Cowboys have any surplus players at all, and in that...
