Another step toward training camp with the first OTA workouts
The pomp and circumstance around the Cleveland Browns is significantly muted this offseason, with a reset to the roster and GM Andrew Berry and HC Kevin Stefanski seemingly getting a restart. The hype would be even less, but the Browns selected social media superstar Shedeur Sanders, which brings with it attention, sponsorships and potentially more.
For now, the four-way competition at the quarterback position is the most interesting part for Cleveland, along with the potential for turning back the clock and [following the recent trend in leading with a rushing...
Wealthy family, social media star means lots of opportunity despite fall in NFL draft
Back in the day, rookie players in the NFL made the least amount of money. Veterans treated them bad, and bossed them around in practices as well as off the field. Veterans did not associate with “rooks” at restaurants or bars. Most rookies never even saw the field for a minimum of two seasons.
Just the way it was.
But now? A team’s starting quarterback can be a rookie. So can the left tackle and one of the cover cornerbacks. An EDGE pass rusher picked in...
Could Deshaun Watson return? Anything is possible but its unlikely to matter for Browns
Never say never. It’s pretty obvious that the Deshaun Watson era for the Cleveland Browns fell flat on its face. For some reason, Watson never was able to recapture his Houston Texans form as he dealt with suspension (his first year in Cleveland, he missed half the season) or injuries (suffering two season-ending problems).
It felt as if everything seemed too difficult for Watson to play the quarterback position as he struggled in a massive way, and it seemed he wasn’t in the right mental state....

These players need to regain their mojo this fall to earn that next payday.
The Cleveland Browns will spend the next seven months evaluating the current situation at quarterback.
Between now and the start of the 2026 NFL Draft, the team needs to know, or at least have a solid understanding, what rookie quarterbacks Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders bring to the field. If they can successfully do that, then general manager Andrew Berry will have a clear picture of how to use the pair of first-round picks he currently has in his pocket.
While most of the focus will...
The Browns returning to their glory years offense could coincide with the NFL’s switch as well
It seems obvious that the Cleveland Browns will return to the glory years of the team’s run-first offense in 2025. Some will note that the lack of certainty at quarterback is one of the reasons, and a good one, but the talent of RBs Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson, along with Jerome Ford returning, would help the Browns limit their passing attempts this season.
If the comparisons between Alvin Kamara and Sampson come to pass, Cleveland might have a close facsimile to the **Kevin...

The latest Cleveland Browns coverage from Dawgs By Nature:
The QB position is still unsettled, so could Cleveland take a page from 1985 and build a run-first offense in 2025?
The Cleveland Browns headed into the 1985 season with questions on offense.
After making the ill-fated decision to move on from quarterback Brian Sipe, the offense struggled with Paul McDonald running the show. The Browns averaged just 15.6 points per game, scored 17 or fewer points 10 times, and finished with a 5-11 record.

Expectations are low for the Browns but the Cavs and Guardians are on a different level
Expectations are a heck of a thing. Go to a movie you think will be great, and you are more likely to be disappointed. If you didn’t know much about that movie or weren’t expecting much, you were more likely to enjoy it.
As a sports fan first and a writer second, I’ve always struggled with the stages of competitiveness for teams. While everyone will say that winning a championship is the most important thing (it is), the process, not the outcome, can be...
The sports giant identifies one player at every position who is currently undervalued in some way
The Cleveland Browns have been getting a ton of press lately after QB Shedeur Sanders fell from the first round to Round 5. It seems every move he makes becomes a national story.

The NFL schedulers didn’t think that aspect of the Browns was enough to give them additional air time as Cleveland doesn’t have a single Prime Time game this year.
But not everybody is focusing on Shedeur’s practice sessions or the shirts he wears or what sports drink...
Browns roster is interestingly constructed with a few position battles besides the QB one on offense
All eyes will be focused on the quarterbacks this week, as the Cleveland Browns take the practice field for OTAs. It will be the first time we get to see rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders throwing alongside veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett.
While that is the most important competition battle, there are others that are worth paying attention to. Head coach Kevin Stefanski has sent a message that everyone on the roster is competing for their role on the 2025 team, but...
