The Cleveland Browns are in Charlotte this week for a joint practice with the Carolina Panthers as the two teams prepare for Friday night’s preseason opener.
And now we know who will be at quarterback for the Browns as head coach Kevin Stefanski announced this morning that rookie Shedeur Sanders will get the start against the Panthers, according to the team’s website.
While that will send the hype train for Sanders into overdrive, the move is not all that surprising given the current situation with Cleveland’s ever-expanding quarterback room.
“My expectations for Shedeur are not different than the rest...
The latest Cleveland Browns coverage from Dawgs By Nature:
The Cleveland Browns are off on Tuesday, heading east to visit the Carolina Panthers for a joint practice on Wednesday and the first preseason game on Friday night. Monday, as required by the NFL, the team provided its first “unofficial” depth chart of the preseason. No huge surprises, but a lot of names all over the list, including four rookies either starting or in a position to play a big role already.
Besides the rookies, a few interesting notes litter the depth chart:
– The QBs being listed, as expected, with the vets up front, then the two rookies
–...

Another quarterback sits out of practice with an injury.
Day 10 of Cleveland Browns training camp took place Monday. Here is our recap of the session.
1. More QB News: The oldest quarterback of them all (Joe Flacco), who can come off the couch at any time, is apparently the only one who doesn’t get hurt. Before practice started, head coach Kevin Stefanski announced that QB Dillon Gabriel would be limited at the final practice in front of fans due to hamstring tightness. Despite being limited, Gabriel still took part...
Trayveon Williams spent six seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, primarily on special teams.
The Cleveland Browns have a busy week ahead of them as they enter the third week of training camp.
Today, the team is back on the practice field in Berea for the final session open to the public. Fans in attendance should be excited as rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders is expected to practice after being sidelined on Saturday with soreness in his throwing shoulder.
Then it is off to Charlotte, where the Browns will have a joint practice with the Carolina Panthers before the two teams meet...
Mitch Van Vooreen was a track star and hurdler at Marquette
The Cleveland Browns constant turnover on their roster continues and is likely to continue until the team gets down to its initial 53-man roster. The tight end position has been a place of concern for the Browns roster, with TE David Njoku having “figured it out” at the top, but a lot of questions after that.
Rookie TE Harold Fannin Jr. has a lot of people excited, but it is tough for rookies at the position, despite his similarities to Brock Bowers, who excelled in Year 1. [TE **Blake...
The QB competition is one reason but the Browns defense is another
The Cleveland Browns head into their final fan-attended practice of their 2025 training camp with many of the same questions as they had heading into it. QB Shedeur Sanders has been the talk of camp and has embraced his role and pressure well. QB Joe Flacco took the first assignment of “QB1” when QB Kenny Pickett was injured, while QB Dillon Gabriel, as a third-round pick, has the most investment from the team.
The Browns offense has looked sluggish at times so far in camp. Some may have...
Rookie sits down with Cleveland legend Bernie Kosar to discuss how things are going as Sanders transitions to the NFL.
The Cleveland Browns have had a horrible time of it when it comes to finding a quarterback over the past 25 years.
It appeared for a brief moment that the decades-long search had concluded in 2018 when the team selected Baker Mayfield with the No. 1 overall selection in that year’s NFL Draft. But that came to a bad end after Mayfield suffered a shoulder injury in 2021, which ultimately led the Browns to trade him to the Carolina Panthers,...
Shedeur Sanders joined Kenny Pickett on the sidelines Saturday with an injury
Like most teams, the Cleveland Browns have faced their fair share of injuries and other ailments during the start of their 2025 training camp. The roster has seen a load of changes, mostly on the backend, while most of the focus has been on the Browns quarterback competition.
Early in training camp, it seemed like Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco and Dillon Gabriel had a real shot at winning the starting job, but HC Kevin Stefanski made it clear that all four QBs, including Shedeur Sanders, were in the...
Despite winning eight titles, the narrative is that Browns have never been to a Super Bowl, 5 games explain why
Most folks believe the NFL title game began with the Super Bowl. That isn’t true.
Although the NFL began in 1920, it didn’t have a league title game until 1933. From 1933 to 1969, to become the NFL champs, a club first had to win the “NFL Championship Game.”
Super Bowl 4 was the first game to be officially coined the “Super Bowl.” The first three installments were entitled the “AFL-NFL Championship Game.” This game pitted the champions of the...
