The Denver Broncos will host the Arizona Cardinals this week for the second preseason game. Denver had a unique preseason with a second joint practice. They had one last week with the San Francisco 49ers and again this week with the Cardinals. The starters also played more extensively than initially expected last week, so we won’t see any of the starters this week or probably next week for that matter.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Mile High time on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado. You can also check local [Broncos radio...
The Broncos won their preseason opener last weekend, but a slow start by the offense had Broncos Country hitting the panic button throughout the week. Thankfully, Bo Nix and the Broncos offense bounced back in a big way during their joint practice with the Cardinals on Thursday, which eased some concerns. However, we also learned that both coaches agreed to sit the vast majority of their starters for this game, which changes the storylines heading into this game.
We’ll see a select few starters play along with the 2nd and 3rd team offense and defense throughout this game, and see...
For last weekend’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, I gave three players to watch. I’ll do the same again for this Saturday when the Denver Broncos host the Arizona Cardinals in their second preseason game of the season.
The Broncos’ first team offensive line didn’t look too great in their initial outing against the 49ers last weekend. However, the depth players flourished and performed well and gave the Broncos’ offense a chance to shine with their second and third-team units.
One in particular that stood out was second-year guard Nick Garguilo. A seventh-round...
According to 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis, the Denver Broncos have signed cornerback Micah Abraham. To make room for him, the team has reportedly waived/injured cornerback Gregory Junior, whom the team signed last week.
Junior left yesterday’s practice with a hamstring injury, and now the team has waived him with an injury designation. Now, Abraham will join the Broncos and likely see playing time tomorrow night during their week two preseason matchup vs. the Cardinals. It has already been announced that they will be resting their starters, so we’ll be seeing the second and third teams in this one. So, Abraham...
The Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals finished up their joint practice session yesterday prior to their second preseason game on Saturday. According to various reports, the Broncos’ first-team offense looked sharp and had one of their best performances as a group all training camp. Additionally, the first-team defense faired well, though struggled on occasion to contain tight end Tre McBride, one of the league’s rising stars at the position.
Overall, yesterday’s efforts should be encouraging news for Broncos Country, but fans who were hoping to see them improve upon their struggles in the preseason opener won’t have a chance tomorrow...
One of the big developments to come out of Thursday’s joint practice vs. the Cardinals was Sean Payton announcing after the practice that both the Broncos and Cardinals will be resting their starters during their preseason matchup on Saturday night.
Payton historically always plays his starters during the preseason, and made a point to say this would happen when he was hired, so this is a slight change in philosophy for the veteran Head Coach.
Payton notes that he has never had two joint practices during camp, and neither has Jonathan Gannon and that due to the uniqueness of having...
On the final day of Broncos training camp (with fans at least), they hosted Kyler Murray, Marvin Harrison Jr., and the Arizona Cardinals for their second joint practice of camp ahead of their preseason game on Saturday. It was a solid back-and-forth practice for both teams, and the Broncos saw their franchise quarterback, Bo Nix, bounce back from some struggles and have his best practice of the summer when it mattered the most. On the defensive side, they had some issues with tight end Trey McBridge, who is one of the best tight ends in the league, who had multiple...
Well, this is it for the public practice sessions for Denver Broncos training camp. They’ll end with a bang, though, with a joint practice session today with the Arizona Cardinals. This is their second joint practice of the year — which is unusual. Last week, they relatively dominated the San Francisco 49ers in these join practices, but then the first-team unit came out and struggled against the 49ers backups in the actual game. So it might make sense not to think too much of the results of today’s practice. It should still be fun to review, though.
Broncos training camp...
Good morning, Broncos Country.
To say Denver Broncos rookie punter Jeremy Crawshaw had a rough go of it in his first game in the National Football League might be an understatement. On his three punts, Crashaw’s average punt distance was just 37 yards with a net of 28 yards. It’s a small sample size and just one game, but those numbers and lack of hang time didn’t ignite much enthusiasm from fans about the franchise’s punter for the upcoming 2025 season.
A few days ago, Joe Mahoney had asked whether or not fans should be concerned with his performance against...
Today was the final Broncos training camp practice, where they would practice against themselves. Tomorrow, the Arizona Cardinals will be in town to take part in the Broncos’ second joint practice of training camp before their week two preseason matchup on Saturday. Today’s practice was a run-heavy one where the media wasn’t close to the action, so we lack a lot of details for the practice session. It was also a second and third team heavy practice, and we saw Bo Nix only attempt a handful of passes in the practice. On top of that, Sean Payton did not meet...
The Denver Broncos are mourning the loss of one of their original Ring of Fame players in Lionel Taylor. He was 89 at the time of his death on August 6, 2025.
When I first came to MHR, Taylor was one of my favorite guys to write about in my many history posts over the years — especially during the 2008-2009 timeframe when history was all I wrote about. He and Goose Gonsoulin were fun to learn about. In fact, I remain convinced that if Taylor had played for any other team in the 1960s he’d be in the Pro...
Last Saturday, the Denver Broncos were able to soundly defeat the San Francisco 49ers in their first preseason game. There were a lot of positives from the game fans across Broncos Country should be excited about. Though a handful of critiques and negatives were evident. Rest assured, the team is hoping to address over the following weeks leading up to the regular season.
One major topic of discussion that arose after the 49ers game was the performance of rookie running back RJ Harvey. His speed, athleticism and burst were a delight to see. That matches up with the highlights and...
