Troy Franklin standing out with stellar training camp

Troy Franklin standing out with stellar training camp

Troy Franklin is having a training camp that young players strive for.

Franklin has been consistent throughout training camp, stacking great practices on great practices and making plays in the process. This type of showing puts a player in a prime position to have a key role come the regular season.

After a rookie season in which he performed at an OK level, the second-year Denver Broncos receiver is forcing his teammates and coaches to take notice. He seems to have taken that 43-yard touchdown catch in the playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills as the confidence builder to where...

Winners and Losers from the Broncos 30-9 victory over the 49ers

Winners and Losers from the Broncos 30-9 victory over the 49ers

The Denver Broncos opened up the preseason against the San Francisco 49ers tonight, and after some early struggles, went on to dominate the game and come away with the victory. The Broncos’ defense gave up an early touchdown to the 49ers, and the Broncos’ offensive starters looked shaky, but their reserves outplayed the 49ers, and they came away with the 30-9 victory.

It wasn’t a perfect game, but plenty of players stood out while others will leave this game as losers. With all that said, here are your winners and losers from the Broncos’ 30-9 victory over the 49ers.

Broncos starters were rusty; backups dominated in win over 49ers

There was a bit of hype about the Denver Broncos first team offense and defense getting an easy game against the San Francisco 49ers backups. Instead, those backups basically punched Denver’s first teamers in the mouth. Bo Nix and the offense did nothing with their first two drives and even gave up a safety, which is probably why Sean Payton put them out there for a third series. That last series they produced a field goal, at least.

Meanwhile, the defense got roasted on the first drive giving up a quick touchdown. They at least got their act together fairly...

Sean Payton has confirmed he’ll have his starters out for a series or two for tonight. So we’ll be getting our first look at Bo Nix and that offense this season.

Five things I want to see from the Broncos during their preseason opener vs. the 49ers

Later tonight, we will see our Denver Broncos take the field for their preseason opener vs. the San Francisco 49ers. The two teams held a joint practice on Thursday, where the Broncos dominated on both sides of the ball for most of the practice, and will look to do the same tonight.

As we have in the past under Sean Payton, we will see our starters for a little while tonight before handing it over to the second and third team offenses and defenses. This will be our first look at the Broncos on the field since their wildcard loss...

This Saturday, the Denver Broncos will take on the San Francisco 49ers in their first game of the preseason on the road in the Bay Area. The Broncos are expected to play their starters for a series or two, but like always, it’s the backup players vying for position on the depth chart that will get the most opportunities. Listed below are three players with a lot of potential that I’m excited to watch this weekend. Feel free to give your top players to watch in the comments section.

Bo Nix’s ability to improvise a trait that will help the offense

While the game tonight against the San Francisco 49ers will mean little in the grand scheme of things. Just a way for the Denver Broncos to get warmed up for Week 1. When the two team’s faced off in joint practices on Thursday, quarterback Bo Nix used his ability to improvise to extend plays and keep those drives going.

Head Coach Sean Payton was asked about how well Nix and wide receiver Courtland Sutton work together to extend those plays, he noted that it is common between quarterback and wide receivers.

“When you get used to that, and we’ve seen...

2025 Preseason: Broncos at 49ers – Everything we know

The Denver Broncos will take on the San Francisco 49ers in the first preseason game for both teams. They held a joint practice session ahead of this game. Denver’s first team seemed to win the day on both side of the ball and they should win the day on gameday too consider the 49ers have no plans to play their starters in this game, while the Broncos first teamers will get a series or two.

Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. Mile High time on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. You can also check...

Matt Henningsen is being evaluated for a possible Achilles tear

According to 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis, Denver Broncos defensive lineman Matt Henningsen is being evaluated for a possible Achilles tear

According to Klis, doctors need to further evaluate the MRI exams before confirming the Achilles injury, but it seems like they’re fearing the worst with this injury.

Doctors need to further evaluate the MRI exams before the Achilles injury is confirmed. The injury occurred about an hour into the joint practice during a 1 on 1 drill as Henningsen was engaged with a 49ers’ offensive linemen. Henningsen, 26, was helped into the 49ers’ outdoor weight room where the Broncos...

Broncos competition along the defensive line should be fierce through preseason

The Denver Broncos wrapped up their joint practice sessions with the San Francisco 49ers today ahead of each team’s first preseason game on Saturday. By all accounts, Denver’s first team offense and defense mostly dominated — the defense especially. The 49ers woke up late and got some positive plays in against both units just before the practice period ended.

Afterwards, one question stood out among all of them. While, head coach Sean Payton’s response was a bit of word salad, I though it would be a good topic to review here as the competition heats up on the roster.

“There...

Don’t sleep on Tyler Badie: The Dark Horse in the Broncos RB competition

While all eyes are on running backs J.K. Dobbins and rookie R.J. Harvey, the battle for the Broncos RB3 (and potentially RB4) jobs is heating up. Jaleel McLaughlin, Audric Estime, Blake Watson, and Tyler Badie are all competing for that job.

While McLaughlin and/or Estime seem like the favorites for that role, do not sleep on running back Tyler Badie as the dark horse in this competition.

9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis tweeted out during the Broncos’ joint practice vs. the 49ers on Thursday that Tyler Badie has a “real shot” at the Broncos’ number three running back role. He has...
