This team is not good. And it’s largely because they don’t have a guy who can put them on their shoulders on offense.

So what did we actually learn from the 2-3 Cincinnati Bengals’ predictable loss to the 4-1 Detroit Lions?

The Cincinnati Bengals have officially squandered their 2-0 start, dropping all three games since backup quarterback Jake Browning took over for Joe Burrow, who remains sidelined with a turf toe injury. The Bengals managed 21 points in the second half of Sunday’s loss to the Lions, but have still been outscored 113–37 over that three-game stretch.

And things aren’t getting any easier. In Week 6, the Bengals head to Lambeau Field to take on the 2-1-1 Green Bay Packers.

I guess I could just write that the Bengals need a new coach, an actual general manager, and new ownership. While that may be the real glaring issues facing the franchise, I will try and look at three players that need to have big weeks for the Bengals to have a shot of pulling off the upset against Detroit this week.

It is fair to say the offensive line has been bad. It is fair to say the running game is non-existent. It is fair to say Zac Taylor is in over his head.
