The Seattle Seahawks won their second Super Bowl last season, cementing them as one of the NFL’s best teams. Seattle paid the price for their Lombardi Trophy with multiple veterans walking away during NFL free agency. One Seahawks player could play a big role on offense in 2026, especially if he is healthy to start the season.
Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet impressed the media at minicamp with his surprising rehab process, per Gregg Bell of The News Tribune.
“Wearing a hoodie over sweatpants and flat, running shoes on grass, Seattle’s running back who rushed for 12 touchdowns last season… did about 15 minutes of high-knee hurdler steps,” Bell wrote. “He also did lateral movement and other low-impact drills with a team trainer. That was while teammates warmed up on the main field to begin the first of three practices of mandatory minicamp.”
Charbonnet tore his ACL against the 49ers during the playoffs, ending his season just weeks before the Super Bowl. Suffering a major injury so late in the season initially had fans worried about his availability in 2026.
However, Seahawks fans could be more optimistic given the progress that Charbonnet has made before training camp.
If Charbonnet needs some time to recover during the regular season, Seattle already has a backup plan.
The Seahawks drafted Jadarian Price to play a big role in their offense. Price was Seattle’s second running back to start minicamp, rotating with current starter George Holani. The combination of Holani, Price, and newcomer Emanuel Wilson gives Seattle enough depth to be able to wait on Charbonnet to be fully healthy.
It is great to get a positive update on Charbonnet’s health. But it will be more important to see if he can maintain that progress during training camp later this summer.
