Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow said earlier in Training Camp that this is the best he’s throwing the ball in his career. When he says something like that, you believe it.
So, can Burrow possibly get better in one or more areas? Bengals head coach Zac Taylor weighed in with FanDuel’s Kay Adams, who hosts the Up & Adams Show on FanDuel and was at Bengals Training Camp Tuesday
“Joe got better, and I don’t even know how that’s possible,” Taylor said. “He’s as good as I’ve seen him. The anticipation, I think, is even at a higher level. It’s the spots on the anticipation, the types of throws, the voids in the field he’s seeing. He’s always been excellent at that. I think it’s really beneficial for him that he’s getting all these training camp reps that he’s maybe at times missed in the past.”
It’s another reason why Burrow and the offensive starters are playing in the preseason, including Thursday night at Philadelphia. The more reps Burrow, Chase, and Higgins get, the more they will be ready to fire out of the gate when the regular season starts.
Zac Taylor played quarterback at Nebraska and won the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2006. He knows great quarterback play when he sees it. The fact that he’s impressed with Burrow this training camp is saying something because he’s been with Burrow his entire career.
