Your Miami Dolphins @ Chicago Bears Thoughts
The Phinsider The Phinsider

Following yesterday afternoon’s game between our Miami Dolphins and the Chicago Bears, I asked the following questions:

Did you see what you were looking for or hoping to see from the Miami Dolphins in this afternoon’s game? Where were the improvements and or regressions by the Dolphins that you saw in today’s game? What, if anything, about today’s game and what you saw disappointed you? What did you see in today’s game that you were happy to see or pleasantly surprised to see? In general, did you come away from this game feeling better or worse about the 2025 version of your Miami Dolphins?

Below are your thoughts and answers-

Dolphinsfan2021 does not seem to have confidence in any of it. I guess it’s not unexpected for some longtime fans.

Dolphins success this year will be decided based on the OL giving this group of mediocre to bad QBs time to throw the ball. Didn’t like what I saw so far. QB position has been an issue for decades and not realistically going to be that great this year. Tua will hit his short timing throws but that’s about it. Backups well one is the lowest paid backup in the NFL for a reason and the other is an almost not drafted QB in a bad QB class. I know defense was playing easier coverages but still too many wide open WRs. This secondary may be one of the worst ever in the history of the NFL. Time for Grier to resign, cant put together a championship team and they are many years away from it. 25 years now no playoff win?

JUK was overall pretty happy, but it reminded them that Tua’s health is the only path to a high level of success.

Overall I was pretty happy. I think it’s fair to say a 24-24 tie with the officiating we got was pretty respectable. The biggest things for me were:

The commitment to running the ball in goal line. Yeah the first one failed (although wright looked in) but they got 3 more in, and I loved that they kept calling them. We didn’t have our best receivers and didn’t try to fool the defense but just kept getting the reps. Ll

The backup receivers (not the backups backups). Really pleased with NWI and both the Washingtons, and Eskridge looked good too. Let’s not worry too much about how our WR 10 looks with a raw Quinn Ewers.

The D overall was pretty good. A couple of BS penalties extended drives, but we didn’t see the CBs get burned much and the front 7 was good especially in the first half when the ones were out there

Not something we learnt, but just a reminder our season will depend on how Tua goes and everyone pumping up Ewers needs to be realistic. I like Ewers, think he was a great pick in 7th but the issues in...
