There was plenty of blame to go around after the Eagles saw their season come to an end with a playoff loss to the 49ers. Many fans directed their ire at AJ Brown and offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, including a young diehard who went viral after airing some grievances on the local news in the wake of the loss.
The Eagles headed into this year’s NFL season as Super Bowl champions, and they got off to a solid start in their quest to defend their crown by opening up the season at 8-2. That initial optimism gave way to some pessimism due to a three-game skid, but Philadelphia was still able to punch its ticket to the playoffs after finishing at 11-6.
The Birds headed into their wild card showdown with the 49ers as 5.5-point favorites on their home turf. Unfortunately, the fans who flocked to Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday watched their season come to a disappointing end as San Francisco overcame the six-point deficit it was facing at the end of the third quarter en route to earning the right to face off against the Seahawks with a 23-19 victory.
Philadelphia’s lackluster offense was the primary culprit in a loss where Jalen Hurts threw for just 168 yards and a single touchdown and AJ Brown was limited to 25 receiving yards while dropping a fairly crucial pass on third down with a little over two minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
Eagles fans were not shy about voicing their disdain, and we were treated to an amazing interview courtesy of one kid who was not thrilled with what he witnessed after getting tickets to the game for Christmas.
WPVI dispatched Briana Smith to chat with Eagles fans leaving The Linc in the wake of the season-ending loss. Her coverage included an interview with Sam Salvo, a resident of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania who received tickets to attend the game as a Christmas present.

Sam did not mince words while ripping into the wideout who was painted as one of the biggest scapegoats, saying, “I want AJ Brown packing his bags and I want him somewhere else that is not here.” However, he saved his harshest criticism for the team’s offensive coordinator, adding, “I also want Kevin Patullo flipping burgers at the local McDonald’s.”
