The Pittsburgh Steelers will definitely be without strong safeties DeShon Elliott and Jabrill Peppers when they face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9 on Sunday, and they might be without Chuck Clark as well.
Clark was added to the team’s injury report on Friday, as he missed the team’s final practice of the week with an illness. Clark is officially listed as questionable to play against the Colts on Sunday.
Clark has started four games for the Steelers this season, playing primarily free safety. Juan Thornhill and Jalen Ramsey have also played a good bit of free safety and should be able to replace him if Clark is unable to play.
It’s the Steelers other safety spot, where Clark has also dabbled, that’s in deep trouble. Elliott was placed on the injured reserve list on Friday with knee injury suffered last week against the Green Bay Packers and Peppers is out with a quad injury suffered in practice this week.
