Marcus Mariota had been fairly conservative as he’s filling in for Jayden Daniels, but on a fateful 1st & 10, Mariota decided that he was going to look for Jaylin Lane on this seam ball no matter what, and Xavier Watts made him pay with his second interception of his rookie year.
The Falcons defense has been one of the more surprising units, as they came into this week as the fifth-most efficient defense in terms of EPA/play allowed. Atlanta was allowing the fewest passing yards in the NFL coming in, and has kept Mariota under 100 yards as the third quarter comes to a close.
As long as the Falcons’ defense continues to be just as explosive as their offensive counterparts have been, this may be one of the few times Atlanta fans can say they’ve seen a complete game from their favorite football team.
