The Miz gave his thoughts on Sanders’ situation in Cleveland
In an interview with Rich Eisen, WWE’s The Miz provided the nation with some thoughts on Cleveland’s quarterback situation when it comes to Joe Flacco and Shedeur Sanders being in the same room.
“I’m not really a professional football player, and I’m not a quarterback, and I’m not in a quarterback room with Joe Flacco,” Miz said. “But if you are in a quarterback room with Joe Flacco who has been to the Super Bowl, won the Super Bowl, has done incredible things in the NFL, I would just put my head down and learn and listen, because he has a great coach in Kevin Stefanski and I think he should just be the player that he was in Colorado.”
The Miz makes a solid point here, and though Flacco made it clear that his main job isn’t to mentor young quarterbacks, he still wants them to pay attention and learn from his actions.
“I wouldn’t want him to change. Like, I always feel like ... the best person is a person that can’t help being themselves, right? That’s the best, in my opinion, and I think he can’t help being himself, and think he’s a born leader. And I think, in the end ... I know it’s gonna be a little circus here and there, but if he can play to the caliber that I feel like he could be, he could be a franchise quarterback.”
Needless to say, the Miz echoes the thoughts of most Cleveland fans when it comes to the type of player that Sanders could eventually develop into.
Though it’s obviously hard to predict how Sanders will perform in Northeast Ohio, he’s doing all the right things so far this offseason. He’s shown that he’s determined to work hard and learn from the players around him throughout rookie minicamp and OTAs.
