PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers safety Jalen Ramsey recorded a sack on Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa early in the third quarter, forcing a Dolphins’ punt after the Steelers scored two consecutive touchdowns to take a 14-3 lead. Ramsey was a teammate of Tagovailoa’s in Miami prior to being traded to the Steelers this offseason.

Ramsey waved with both hands at the field on his way to the sideline. Ramsey’s tenure with Miami did not end on a good note, as he did not see eye-to-eye with head coach Mike McDaniel.

Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who’s on injured reserve with a torn ACL, joked on X that Ramsey is never going to stop talking after sacking Tagovailoa.

“Don’t let Ramsey make a play we won’t hear the end of it,” Hill wrote with a crying laughing emoji.

Ramsey took the high road when asked if Monday night’s a revenge game. Jonnu Smith, who was also a part of the trade package for Minkah Fitzpatrick in June, also did not give any bulletin board material.

“I attack the week as I would attack any other week, honestly,” Ramsey said. “I’m sure they self-scout, and they scout us. It’s a different year, so you can’t really always go off of things of the past. So, I’m just attacking this week how I’ve done the rest of the weeks, honestly.”

Tagovailoa probably wasn’t surprised that Ramsey dropped him for a sack. He knows what he brings to the table.

“We all know Jalen is a very aggressive player,” Tagovailoa said. “That’s sort of Jalen’s mindset as well, but we’re not just playing against Ramsey, we’re playing against the entire defense, but he adds a big piece to that defense, for sure.”

The Steelers lead the Dolphins 21-3 with 3:12 remaining in the third quarter.
