The Seattle Seahawks are on the road this weekend, searching for their first victory of the season, with an important early season matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday afternoon.

As the Seahawks look to keep pace with the rest of the NFC West, they will be without second round draft pick Nick Emmanwori, who was ruled out with an ankle injury suffered in the Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, leaving the secondary thinner than desirable.

Taking a step to address that, on Saturday the team announced that it had made a move to added extra depth in the secondary, which could also be necessary due to the fact that starting cornerback Devon Witherspoon is doubtful for the game Sunday afternoon.

D’Anthony Bell was signed in free agency after the Cleveland Browns opted not to place one of the available restricted free agent tags on him in the spring, making him an unrestricted free agent. Bell has primarily been a special teams player during his career, playing more than a thousand special teams snaps during his time in Cleveland, compared to just 392 special teams snaps.

The Seahawks also elevated DT Brandon Pili, giving them another big body on the defensive line.
