There will be a game at Lambeau Field on Sunday, September 6th, but it won’t involve the Green Bay Packers. While the Packers will have that week “off” between the preseason and regular season, Wisconsin and Notre Dame will travel to Green Bay for a Labor Day weekend matchup to kick off their respective seasons in the newest edition of Notre Dame’s “Shamrock Series.”

Over the past two days, both teams have dropped alternative jerseys for this Shamrock Series game, including hype videos that accompany their new looks.

The Badgers’ video is voiced over by Vince Biegel, who played for both Wisconsin and Green Bay. Their new uniform for the game is a monochrome red look with silver accents (which sort of reminds me of Rutgers, honestly).

You’re going to be shocked, but Notre Dame is going to wear blue and gold, their traditional colors. In their hype video, though, they claim that their colors are “a nod to the Acme Packers’ blue and good roots,” as if the Fighting Irish don’t wear blue and gold nearly every game already. But, hey, at least Paul Hornung got a shoutout in the video.

So if you end up catching the game over Labor Day weekend, don’t be surprised when it’s a color-on-color matchup where neither team is wearing its traditional uniform.
