The Steelers-Browns game on Sunday is currently flagged as a Yellow / Orange weather alert on RotoGrinders, reflecting a meaningful chance for weather to impact gameplay.

Kevin Roth, Chief Meteorologist at RotoGrinders, is forecasting steady winds in the mid-to-upper teens with rain likely during the game window.

“Winds should be sustained around 15–18 mph, with occasional higher gusts, and there’s a decent chance of rain throughout the game,” Roth notes. “That combination can make throwing and kicking more difficult, especially in an open stadium like Cleveland.”

Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been red-hot as of late, completing 73 of 102 passes for 774 yards with 4 touchdowns and no interceptions. His passer rating during those three games is 106.4.

Rodgers feels like he’s at his best in the cold weather. That bodes well for the Steelers, considering Sunday’s projected forecast in Cleveland on Sunday.

“The last five or six years, I’ve kind of Benjamin Button-ed this thing, compared to some of the other guys where guys just kind of hanging on,” Rodgers said. “For whatever reason, I feel I get stronger as the season goes on. I think part of that is the cold weather. I always say the cold weather slows everybody else but me down, so I’m going normal speed and it’s slightly faster than the other guys who are slowed down by a field or the cold or whatever.

“Yeah, the wrist is still healing, but everything else feels really good.”

During his Tuesday press conference, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin highlighted the Steelers recent struggles in Cleveland, and their recent struggles vs. Myles Garrett. The Steelers are 1-5-1 in their last seven games in Cleveland.

Tomlin thinks the Browns defense is ‘the best unit in the entire AFC North.’ It all starts with Garrett. They also have a rising rookie star in linebacker Carson Schwesinger.

“They got what appears to be a slam dunk Defensive Player of the Year (Myles Garrett) and they got what appears to be a slam dunk Defensive Rookie of the Year (Carson Schwesinger) in their front seven,” Tomlin said. “Myles Garrett has certainly been an issue for us in that venue. I think he’s had five sacks in our last two trips, neither that we won.”

Garrett currently stands at 22.0 sacks. He needs one sack in the next two weeks to break Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt’s 22.5 single-season sack record. Watt tied Strahan for the record in 2021.

“He’s at the doorstep of history. We certainly have respect for that,” Tomlin said.

The Steelers wil win the AFC North with a victory over the Browns on Sunday. They can also clinch the division if the Baltimore Ravens lose to the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night.
