It’s always fun to watch fan confidence flail about like loose sheet in the maelstrom of wins and (mostly) losses that has been every Carolina Panthers season since we started the Panthers Reacts surveys. That is why there is no surprise that confidence in the Panthers has sky-rocketed since the season low of 9% after the Week 4 loss to the New England Patriots.

Fans are now a season high 81% confident that this franchise is heading in the right direction. That is an improvement of 72 points over the low and 5 points over the preseason result that showed 76% of fans who were confident in the team’s direction.

What a difference consecutive winning weeks makes.

Win totals

Since the Panthers have now matched the win total many fans predicted after Week 2 and Carolina’s 0-2 start, we thought it prudent to re-visit our win prediction survey this week as well.

Hope has returned.

Most folks think we’re looking at the Carolina Panthers are looking at their most successful season under a full-time head coach since at least 2018, when Ron Rivera won seven games in his last full season with the Panthers.

Whether or not that hope will be rewarded remains to be seen. The Panthers are about to run into the teeth of their schedule and their recent successes are based on the strength of an offensive line unit that keeps racking up injuries.

Let’s all keep our fingers crossed for a healthy contest against the New York Jets today.
