Canal Street Chronicles
Every offseason, one thing scares every team in the league. No, it’s not losing your best player to injury or an important player not wanting to return in free agency; it’s Hard Knocks. This year, 16 teams are eligible for the show, and the New Orleans Saints are among them.
Teams dread this outcome because it’s a distraction. No franchise or staff wants their “personal space” (AKA anything that happens behind closed doors) exposed to other teams. Look at what happened to the New York Giants in the 2024 offseason. This was the offseason that RB Saquon Barkley left, and that entire process was recorded. Also, GM Joe Schoen was heavily scrutinized after the episodes were released. Running that risk is scary for teams.
Looking at the list, the Kansas City Chiefs are the ones that make the most sense for the NFL to capitalize on, so the Saints may escape Hard Knocks once again.
