The Las Vegas Raiders got a whole lot better during the 2026 offseason. Las Vegas added QB Fernando Mendoza in the draft, which should give fans hope about the future of the franchise. Fans should also be thrilled about the fact that their best defensive player could soon be back to full health.
Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby is progressing well through his injury rehab. Crosby has joined his teammates for warm-ups every day of practice, per Jesse Merrick of Silver & Black Sports Network.
Crosby said that he is close to returning and that he should be good to go by the start of training camp.
Las Vegas’ mandatory minicamp will wrap up on June 11th. It is the final step of the offseason before training camp, which kicks off in late July. That gives Crosby more time to fully recover before the offseason program intensifies during camp.
The superstar edge rusher underwent successful meniscus surgery earlier this offseason. Crosby’s recovery from that surgery was the main factor that blew up his potential trade to the Ravens. Fortunately, it seems that everything is looking good for Crosby so far.
Crosby is coming off another productive season in 2025, despite playing on a talent-poor Raiders team. He logged 73 total tackles with 10 sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception during the regular season.
Las Vegas should have an even better defense around Crosby this fall. The front office invested heavily in defense during NFL free agency, adding stars like Nakobe Dean, Quay Walker and Kwity Paye.
It will be exciting to see how much the Raiders have improved when the regular season kicks off later this fall.
