With the Philadelphia Eagles winning the Super Bowl, Jalen Hurts has now joined a very exclusive club.
This club is so exclusive that it only features two members.
As pointed out by Dov Kleiman on X, Hurts and Patrick Mahomes are actually the only quarterbacks drafted after 2012 to win a Super Bowl.
Insane: Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts are the ONLY quarterbacks drafted after 2012 to win a Super Bowl.

Mahomes (drafted in 2017) and the Kansas City Chiefs have gone 3-2, while Hurts (2020) and his Eagles have gone 1-1.
Jimmy Garoppolo (2014), Jared Goff (2016), Joe Burrow (2020), and Brock Purdy (2022) have all gone 0-1 on the biggest stage, while the rest of the league has zero Super Bowl appearances during that span, per Kleiman.
Of course, Matthew Stafford and Tom Brady also won a Super Bowl during that span, but they were clearly both taken way before 2012.
We’ve seen plenty of talent take the league by storm in recent years, and it’ll be interesting to see who’s going to join this list in the foreseeable future.
Burrow, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen figure to be the most likely candidates.
Nevertheless, we can’t forget that young stars like C.J. Stroud, Jayden Daniels, and maybe even Caleb Williams, Justin Herbert, or Trevor Lawrence will potentially live up to the sky-high expectations around them.
For now, Hurts and Mahomes are on a tier of their own compared to the rest of the pack.
While it takes much more than a great quarterback to win the ultimate prize, the players definitely deserve a lot of credit for their team’s recent success.
