If the Cleveland Browns struggle again in the upcoming season, they may find themselves at a crossroads and might see themselves trying to get a quarterback like Arch Manning and so much more in the near future.
Outlets like Colin Cowherd have floated the notion that Cleveland could pursue a dramatic reboot.
Cowherd, the host of The Herd, made a peculiar pitch on his show, which involves Texas quarterback Arch Manning joining legendary head coach Nick Saban in the NFL.
Saban, who retired from coaching in 2024, has been put back into the coaching spotlight after ESPN’s Greg McElroy reported that a “very much in the know person” told him they believe Nick Saban will return to coaching.
That information led Cowherd to make a pitch proposing that Manning and Saban join the Cleveland Browns in 2026.
“Nick’s an SEC guy, knows the Manning family well. If Arch Manning plays well, if he plays it like a B+, A- level, he’s going No. 1 in the draft,” Cowherd said.

“Cleveland, very likely, is going to be the worst team in the league. Nobody’s going to lose sleep with that. Arch Manning in Cleveland? The owner’s Jimmy Haslam, a huge SEC, Tennessee booster who loves headlines?
Manning is poised to significantly impact the 2025 college football season as the starting quarterback for the Texas Longhorns.
Manning gave fans plenty to be excited about in his limited action. In his two starts, Manning completed 41-of-his-60 pass attempts for 583 yards and four touchdowns while only throwing two interceptions. He also recorded 29 rushing yards and a touchdown.
The Athletic devised seven tiers to evaluate and group quarterbacks in Division I football.
According to these rankings, Manning is a Tier 1 quarterback.
Now he has to prove it on the field.
