PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren revealed during OTAs that he has slimmed down this offseason.
Warren, who was listed at 215 pounds in 2025, said he currently weighs 208 pounds. Shedding weight was a priority for the fifth-year RB out of Oklahoma State.
“I’ve definitely been taking this offseason seriously,” Warren said. “We’re going into Year 5. I know the ins and outs of everything, so we’re moving it.”
Warren added that he feels faster and more explosive.
“Quicker, just more explosive muscle. I feel good,” he said.
Warren recently had an intense training session with Sione Vaki. It looks like the shredded weight has provided more explosiveness.
The Steelers ranked 26th in rushing last year. Warren revealed during an appearance on Up & Adams in April that a number of things went into the rushing attack struggling in 2025.
“It could be a lot of things. I wouldn’t point the finger at anyone,” Warren explained. “Things just happened the way they happened. Moving forward, whatever the coaches have planned, I know we’re ready to execute it.”
Warren loves the vibes from new head coach Mike McCarthy.
“Man, he’s been energetic,” Warren told Adams. “Just getting us, obviously, it’s an information week, so he’s been doing his thing as far as preparing us for what he wants and what he is expecting out of us. It’s been great. I just love the energy he brings, I just love what he’s about.”
Rico Dowdle and Warren should be a dynamic tandem in the backfield for the Steelers. Both are undrafted players, too.
“Jaylen reached out to me during the season last year. He liked my style of play, my game and stuff. You know, just keep putting on for the undrafted guys,” Dowdle said. “Now we together here, so we get to do it together.”
With shedding weight this offseason, more explosive runs could be on the horizon for Warren.
