NBC Sports Boston’s Patriots insider Tom E. Curran believes that New England is likely to make a move before the Nov. 4 trade deadline.

“I do think they will make a move,” Curran said on Tuesday during WEEI’s “Jones & Keefe”. “I think they owe it to themselves to make a move, and if you look at this roster, top to bottom, in the positions they have staffed right now and the depth behind those players. Let’s talk about injuries, because Mike Vrabel has started alluding to them regularly. They need to start accounting for the fact that if they lose people, there will be an issue.”

Curran highlighted tight end and wide receiver as two key areas the Patriots could target.

“I look at a tight end as an underarted spot where you have to be concerned because behind Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper is Jack Westover, and he’s not really a ball-catching threat,” Curran added. “Wide receiver, everybody’s got their role, but if someone goes down, they have to reshuffle where everybody falls in.”

Strengthening the tight end and receiver positions would help the team prepare for potential injuries. On the flip side, if everyone stays healthy, the new additions would be a valuable asset to an offense that’s already among the best in the NFL.
