We kicked off a 4 part WCG roundtable about free agency on Monday, and here’s part three.

The Chicago Bears have five exclusive rights free agents, five restricted free agents, and twenty-one unrestricted free agents (details here), so who would you like to see return?

Here’s part three of our latest WCG roundtable.

Who is the one current Bears free agent you hope they re-sign?

Jacob Infante: Jack Sanborn would be my vote. He’s a restricted free agent, and the Bears could always apply a “right to first refusal” tag to him. I don’t anticipate he would cost that much, and he’s one of the better LB3s in the league, in my opinion. Having him on a team-friendly deal would give them the long-term flexibility to utilize a 4-3 base defense at a high level when they don’t want to utilize nickel or dime formations.

Bryan Orenchuk: Jack Sanborn. The depth that he provides and the way he rounds out the 4-3 LB corps when he is in there is something we have possibly taken for granted. Could Noah Sewell or someone else step up? Maybe. But Sanborn will likely come cheap and is a proven Special Teams guy as well. Bring him back!

Mongo Peanut: I thought that Chris Williams flashed as a strong rotational DT. 3 sacks, 3 TFLs, and 26 years old with only 32% of snaps taken is pretty efficient, so I’d like to see him back on a cheap deal.

Aaron Leming: Looking at the Bears’ current list of free agents, there aren’t many (if any) names where I think to myself, “Man, they’ve got to get that guy back”. So, for me, there’s not a lot of urgency. If I’m picking one name, it’s likely Matt Pryor. Give him a cheaper two-year deal to be your swing OL. He can play either tackle or guard, and all things considered, he played pretty dang well in 2024.

Ryan Droste: I was impressed with Matt Pryor at times down the stretch. He had some eye-popping moments when it came to blocking in the run game, and I love the size this guy has. Of all of the guys who were forced to play on the OL due to injury, I felt he surprised me the most with his play. I wouldn’t mind keeping him around as a depth piece. He ended up with a 69.4 season grade from PFF, which isn’t bad for someone who played a lot more than we expected. I’d think he would have a pretty reasonable salary demand.

Erik Duerrwaechter: There really aren’t too many options in the first place... and frankly, I don’t believe any of the pending free agents are irreplaceable. I’d welcome Teven Jenkins back if they cannot find an actual upgrade.

Josh Sunderbruch: Bill Murray, who is currently an exclusive rights free agent. I think he showed promise, and I’d love to see Chicago keep him for depth, if nothing else.

TJ Starman: Darrell Taylor. The Bears’ pending...
