The Browns are currently beating the Bengals in today’s game, but Cleveland has already suffered a couple of impactful injuries at cornerback.
Both Denzel Ward and Tyson Campbell are questionable to return, as Campbell went down with a shoulder injury and Ward with a neck injury. With the team’s top two outside corners dinged up, Cleveland has been forced to use Sam Webb and D’Angelo Ross today against Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
In case it wasn’t already obvious, this is the definition of a mismatch and everything that Cincinnati could want against the Browns today. With Myles Garrett rushing the passer and on the verge of the NFL sack record, the Bengals needed to be able to be effective in the quick game in order to negate his pressure.
Though Webb has actually been “okay” today, Ross has been beaten on a couple of big pass plays against Ja’Marr Chase. The good thing is that Myles Harden is healthy and has been pretty good in the first half at locking down the slot, which should at least help with the quick game between the hashes.
