Vote in our Wednesday poll — and tell us what you think, too!
As our Matt Stagner pointed out in his most recent “Market Movers” article, it’s possible that fourth-year cornerback Joshua Williams will not be on the Kansas City Chiefs’ roster when the 2025 season begins.
It’s easy to see when you review 2024’s snap counts: the team doesn’t trust Williams as a defender. He was among the leaders in special-teams snaps — but down the stretch, he hardly saw the field as a cornerback. The team can save over $3 million against the salary cap by releasing Williams — and it just added two other corners. Veteran Kristian Fulton projects as a starter, while Robert Rochell is a special-teams player. Both have the size and physical profile to fill roles that Williams held. Don’t be surprised if he isn’t on the initial 53-man roster.
