Saturday’s matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles gave the Cleveland Browns their second preseason win of the summer. It came with no shortage of standout performances, especially from rookies and undrafted free agents looking to showcase their talent and make a name for themselves.
One of the biggest standouts was undrafted rookie wide receiver Gage Larvadain. He finished the day with 3 receptions for 43 yards and added an impressive 16-yard gain on an end-around. Larvadain also handled the punt returns in this game and averaged 7.2 yards on 5 returns. If he can show out with another impressive performance next week against the Los Angeles Rams, he might make a case to land on the Browns’ initial 53-man roster.
On the other side of the ball, Cleveland’s defense had a great afternoon. KJ Henry had some notable moments, including an interception returned 45 yards for a touchdown. The interception was set up nicely by a hit from defensive end Julian Okwara – a moment that showcased the depth of the Browns’ defensive front.
With one preseason game left, performances like these will give the coaching staff exactly what they need to make their final roster decisions.
