Here’s how much cap space the Bears have, a list of all their free agents, plus an explainer of what each type of free agent is.
NFL free agency will begin on March 12, with the early negotiation period starting two days prior. According to Over The Cap, the Chicago Bears currently have the sixth-most salary cap space available at $63,113,403. The Bears are also ranked seventh in effective cap space, which is how much OTC projects a team will have after signing at least 51 players and the 2025 rookie class to its roster, at $54,124,590.
The New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders are 1-2 in the cap space rankings, but the Bears will have plenty to offer up to their top choice, whomever that may be.
The Bears aren’t expected to use a franchise or transition tag on any of their free agents, but the tag could have an impact on who will be available. The window to tag players is from February 18 to March 4.
