The New England Patriots will wrap up Week 13 of the 2025 NFL season on Monday Night Football against the New York Giants. Across the league, a hectic slate of games is in the books, and much has changed for the Pats heading into this contest.

In the AFC playoff picture, the Denver Broncos have moved back into the No. 1 seed after they snuck out an overtime victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday Night Football. In the NFC, several of the top contenders, such as the Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions suffered losses.

With so much parity taking place across the league, New England’s ongoing nine-game win streak looks even more impressive. However, they still aren’t viewed as the top team in the league, as Bucky Brooks of Fox Sports had the Patriots standing pat at the No. 2 spot in his latest power rankings once again.

“As the Patriots face the Giants in a Monday night matchup, Mike Vrabel & Co. are on the verge of being legitimate title contenders despite questions about their schedule and competition level,” Brooks wrote.

“It’s not always pretty, but the Patriots do what needs to be done each week to add another ‘W’ to their winning streak, which stands at nine heading into Monday night.”

Of course, things could look different after New England plays New York. If the team wins, it’d be tough not to move them up to the No. 1 spot, as they’d be the top seed in the AFC, while also being the first team to win 11 games.

On the other hand, a loss to the two-win Giants could drop them several spots. After all, several folks have been waiting all season long for the rug to get pulled out from underneath the Patriots: it simply has not happened to this point.

The playoff race is heating up, and every game is becoming very important for the Pats. They will look to head into their bye week with a 10-game win streak by taking down the Giants on Monday night, with kickoff for this game scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET.
