Joe Flacco vs Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel vs Shedeur Sanders are the undercard for big Browns QB competition

The general “we” around the Cleveland Browns has no idea what will happen with the Browns quarterback competition, but will be around for the ride until there is certainty at the position. Despite being called out by a former teammate, Joe Flacco believes he is going to win the starting job and doesn’t believe his age is a problem at all.

Fans and media are most interested in whether rookie Shedeur Sanders could be a steal despite Dillon Gabriel being drafted two rounds ahead of him and Kenny Pickett continues to linger in the picture.

With mandatory minicamp around the corner, along with OTAs still going on, the quarterbacks continue to be the focus. Mary Kay Cabot believes that Cleveland will have at least divided the competition into the top two in the competition:

“(After mandatory minicamp) You are going to want to have a pretty good idea of how you are going to divide up those reps in training camp in terms of the pecking order... you have to get these guys ready... heading into training camp, they should have in their own minds a pretty good idea of who at least the top two are.”

HC Kevin Stefanski will likely be asked daily, and probably multiple times a day, about where things sit with the Browns quarterback competition. Stefanski is unlikely to provide much detail, but all QB reps during open sessions will be evaluated and, likely, counted to try to get an idea of who is leading the process.

Do you agree with Cabot that the Browns should have a top 2 clearly in place coming out of mandatory minicamp or should the QB competition take as long as possible to make sure they get the right guy?
