The NFL trade deadline is tomorrow and the Miami Dolphins are one of those teams rumored to be open to moving some players. That wasn’t the case a few days ago, but after parting ways with Chris Grier and Champ Kelly serving as interim general manager, it seems very likely the Dolphins could be trading some of their top players. All eyes are the edge defenders with Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb garnering the most interest while Matt Judon could also be moved. The team is also open to moving Jaylen Waddle, but a team has to blow them away with an offer and this one doesn’t seem too likely.

Now we also have reports saying that QB Tua Tagovailoa could be benched if he keeps throwing picks as his future with the team remains murky. Tua is likely here next season and probably remains the starter due to his contract. Unless something drastic happens over the offseason and the Dolphins just decided to release him for a huge dead cap number or end up trading him. Who knows what the future will bring.

Head coach Mike McDaniel appears to be safe for this season and it sounds like he has a good chance of sticking around to go through the rebuild, unless this team quits on him. It makes for a weird general manager search if Stephen Ross wants McDaniel as head coach.

You can check out that story here, and the rest of the day’s round-up below.

Dolphins open to trading ahead of deadline as Miami faces questions on Tua Tagovailoa, Mike McDaniel For the last several weeks, the Miami Dolphins have been a frequent recipient of trade calls, with playoff-ready teams trying to pry a few key players. While there had been some dialogue, opposing general managers left feeling like now former-general manager Chris Grier had little interest in engaging.
