Super Bowl commercials are some of the most expensive advertisements a company can buy spots for on television.

For the 2020 Super Bowl, the two most expensive advertisements were sold. What were they?

Per GO Banking Rates and CBS, Google and Amazon purchased the most expensive commercials in Super Bowl history as of 2023, priced at $16.8 million a spot.

These 90-second ads cost more than most of the yearly salaries of the players who competed in the 2020 Super Bowl. That’s a lot of money!

However, dueling data from Qualtrics suggests that the Amazon ad “Mind Reader” cost $26 million, making it the most expensive Super Bowl ad of all time. Essentially, there is no clear consensus.
