If you were offensive coordinator Joe Brady, which game plan would you choose? Vote now!
What a time to be a Buffalo Bills fan! The stage is set and the Buffalo Bills travel to Arrowhead Stadium on a mission to slay their playoff dragon, the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Bills will need to play a sound game in all three phases to win, but all eyes will be on quarterback Josh Allen and Buffalo’s offense to put up more points than the Chiefs do on Sunday.
What should Buffalo’s offensive game plan look like in facing defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo’s stop unit? Should it match the Bills’ game plan last weekend against the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional Round? Or instead, should they sling it all over the field, letting Allen try to rack up as many points as possible?
Let’s explore four potential offensive game plans for the Bills’ offense. After reading, we want to hear from you! Vote in the poll at the end and comment below on what type of game plan you want to see.
Which approach do you believe is best?
Think of copying and pasting their game plan from the Divisional Round win vs. the Baltimore Ravens.
This is all about bringing in their heavy personnel and pounding the rock on first down and also 2nd & Medium. This wouldn’t be flashy and it will lead to a close game at the end. Allen’s stats probably wouldn’t be overly impressive and the offense would most likely face lots of third downs.
Falling behind early could dismantle this game plan in a hurry, but if Buffalo can grind out a win by playing mistake-free football, I don’t think Bills Mafia would complain.
Sling it all over the field and only run the football when you’re trying to waste clock.
This game plan is a fun one to think about, but the risks are high when throwing the ball 40-50 times. Buffalo’s running game has been too good this season to abandon it completely.
I doubt Buffalo will turn to this strategy, but they are capable of flipping the switch anytime they need to. Unless the Chiefs come up...
