Stefon Diggs was plenty complimentary of his former team and quarterback postgame Sunday afternoon.
Hard not to be after the way the final 30 minutes of the game went for the Buffalo Bills.
The New England Patriots would have won the AFC East on Sunday with a win over Buffalo. Instead, the Bills marched into Gillette Stadium and, after a slow start in which they dug themselves a 21-point hole, pieced together a wild comeback. The Bills would win 35-31, and they now trail the Patriots by just a game.
Diggs was facing his former team for the second time this season after the two sides met at Highmark Stadium in Week 5. The wideout’s exit from the Bills and his relationship with Allen long has been the subject of public fascination, but he had nothing but good things to say.
“(It turned out) kind of like that game we anticipated: 60 minutes,” Diggs said, via a team-provided transcript. “Great football team on the other side, great quarterback, great coaches, so you’ve got to kind of tip your hat to them. They had a great plan, and they came and played well. So, it’s going to be a 60-minute football game.
“So, we came in, got off to a good start, and that’s not all. You’ve got to come out and have the same intensity in the second half. Obviously, we had a little lull. We were trying; we were fighting back, clawing, defense gave us some opportunities. We’ve got to find a way to make it happen. So, all I can say is it’s a 60-minute football game.”
Diggs and the Patriots will face the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16.
