This Sunday, the New York Jets face the Buffalo Bills in one of their two divisional matchups. As even the most casual of football fans would assume, the New York Jets (a bad team for the last decade-plus) are not expected to defeat the Buffalo Bills (one of the league’s best teams for the past few years). But just what kind of game is Fanduel anticipating based on their gambling lines (as of Friday at about 9AM).
To start, they have the Jets to win the game at +250. which means you can bet $100 to win an additional $250 dollars. This positions the Jets as the underdog. Specifically, it would place the Jets implied odds of victory at about 28.5%.
In line with that, they have the Jets at +6.5, which means they expect the team to lose by about a touchdown. This isn’t exactly a huge spread by gambling standards, but it sure isn’t small either.
Lastly, they have the over/under set at 46.5 points, which implies a high scoring game of sorts. More specifically, if we pair this with the spread, then this suggests something around in the range of a 27-20 Bills victory.
