What are your Los Angeles Rams (5-2) versus the New Orleans Saints (1-7) final score predictions? I am picking the Rams in this one, and I want to keep my prediction grounded, but in theory, this game could (and maybe should?) get out of hand in favor of the Rams, but I’ll keep my prediction Rams 27, Saints 10.
I have never played in the NFL (surprised?) but I have an understanding and an appreciation that the worst team in the NFL is still one of the best teams in the world, and any “bad” team is a sleeping giant just waiting to go off on any given Sunday.
All that to say, the Saints can win against the Rams in Week 9, but on paper and through the eye test, the Rams have at times shown they are a top team this year, whereas the Saints have shown they will fight for head coach Kellen Moore, but their roster is being built back up as their franchise has struggled to move on from the Drew Brees era, and that’s reflected in their current 1-7 record. To their credit, the Saints haven’t been rolling over, but they have been getting outmatched more often than not.
Throw in the fact that New Orleans is going with a rookie for the first start of his career against L.A.’s vaunted defensive line, and this seems even more of an uphill battle for the Saints, but you never count your chickens before they hatch, and you never count a win until it’s won. A lesson this Rams’ teams hopes they learned in their losses to the Philadelphia Eagles (blown 19 point lead) and the San Francisco 49ers (down 14-0 before they knew the game had started).
Never a dull moment in the NFL, and this game is as must watch as any other for Rams and Saints fans.
Rams 27, Saints, 10
If the Rams show up as they did in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars, then they should put up more than 30 points, but this may be a game where L.A. secures a lead, and takes their foot off the gas. I could see the Saints scoring on their opening drive because their rookie quarterback offers a brief spark, but overall, the Rams should put out any fire that New Orleans attempts to start.
“Week 9 vs. New Orleans Saints: Win. The Saints started out last year with a 2-0 record, and one of the best-looking offenses in the league. Do you remember that? No one does”
